It has been a dream of mine forever to visit Ethiopia, and Aspire Tours made that first time experience so much better than I could have ever imagined! Though I was only able to spend a day touring Addis, I had so much fun on my private tour with my guide Gashaw that I truly can’t wait to return and go on one of the company’s longer trips to see the entire country! I have traveled all over the world, and this was easily one of the best tour experiences I have ever had.
Gashaw was very easy to communicate with over email and WhatsApp, and he responded to all my requests quickly. I booked the full day experience in Addis, and told him some of my particular interests. The prices are super affordable for the level of quality. Gashaw is truly a phenomenal guide! From the moment he picked me up at my hotel, he was an absolute wealth of knowledge about Ethiopia’s culture, history, politics, religion, and much more. It was fascinating to learn so much from him- so much great information that I almost wanted to take notes so I wouldn’t forget!
We started with a literal private tour of the National Museum first thing in the morning when there were no other guests there, and we saw art, cultural artifacts, and of course the archeological finds like Lucy! Next we visited Addis’ famous church, where I learned about religion, got to wear traditional robes, and had a beautiful candlelight tour of the church museum. We visited the highest viewpoint of the city and did a mini hike through a gorgeous eucalyptus forest. Next, was so excited to eat some of the best food I’ve ever had at an authentic restaurant, and drink the best coffee ever at the oldest coffee shop in the city. We ended the tour with a drive through Merkato and saw some of the other notable buildings in the city before Gashaw dropped me at the airport for my return flight to the US. Even did some quick stops to check out souvenirs and buy coffee beans. Gashaw even helped me out with a portable Wi-Fi transmitter so I could deal with some flight delay issues over the phone. The tour was the perfect mix of highlights and off the beaten path spots that I wouldn’t have been able to navigate on my own. It never felt touristy and was perfectly tailored to my time and interests.
I am so glad I was able to do this experience, as I really fell in love with Ethiopia, the kind people, and of course the amazing food and drink! Gashaw was not just a guide; by the end of the day I felt like I had made a great new friend in Ethiopia. He was always kind, professional, patient, and super interesting to talk to. This is definitely a must do in Addis and the best way to see the city!

I was traveling to Ethopia for 11 days as a single female and know it was generally safe and learn that it was highly recommended to get some help piecing things together. I got in touch with Aspire for suggestions and we had a chat about the things I was interested in. My bespoke trip of the North was all set after a few email exchanges. Communication was brilliant so I was very confident I made the right choice to go with them.
I was accompanied mostly by Gashaw who was sharp, very knowledgeable and amiable. I felt like I was traveling with a friend more than a guide. He opened up the world of Ethopian culture, beauty and history to me. I was definitely in my mind, not a tourist but a traveler as I experienced very local things as well as marvel at the wonderful sights of Addis Ababa, Lake Tana, Gondar, Lalibela, Simien Mountains.
I was also accompanied for 2 days by Morgas who was really sweet, funny and a nature lover for a hike up the highlands for a wonderful homestay experience with a local family with warm hearts in their humble home. That’s definitely recommended! The views enroute were breathtaking as well!
I also had the picturesque Danakil Depression trip added and guided by KB who was very professional and caring. It was spectacular!
There were too many great experiences, it’s hard to highlight which ranks as a favourite.
By the time I returned to Addis, I was craving for the delicious coffee at Gashaw’s favourite cafe! We made a pit stop the moment we landed back to Addis to indulge.
They listened to everything I wanted and made it happen or offered suitable alternatives and that was crucial to make the trip very special.
I do not hesitate to recommend the professional team from Aspire for your trip. I know I’ll contact them when I am ready to return to explore the south !

Thanks to Gashaw who showed us around we had a very interesting and enjoyable stopover in Addis Ababa.
Walk in Mercato is a must and gives you a quick insight into the real life of people in Ethiopia.
The visit to the traditional Ethiopian restaurant allowed us to have a taste of local cuisine and to listen to great Ethiopian music.
Strongly recommended!

Based on globtroter.pl we decided on Gashaw
as the organizer of our trip to the south of Ethiopia and we do not regret this decision. Everything ok, no surprises except the invitation to a farewell dinner with a show of regional dances :) Hotels clean, cars a bit old but functional. Price almost half of offered byTimeless Ethiopia. Gashaw works hard to make customers satisfied and gain a good opinion. I recommend!

Through Gashaw and Aspire Ethiopia tours, I completed a 1 month tour of Ethiopia taking in the best the country has to offer Danakil,lalibela, Gondar,Simien Mountains,omo valley.bale Mountains and Harar

I had a wonderful day. Historical introduction in Museum, great views of the city from the Entoto Park, visited the local market and an Ethiopian Orthdox Church etc… Capital is a great guide. Totally recommend! Thank you.

I travelled with Aspire Ethiopia for 10 days with my family to Lalibela, Gondar and Simiens. Our tour guide Gashaw also took my family on a day trip in Addis Ababa. We had an amazing time. We had given Gashaw and idea of the kind of trip we wanted and he organized the trip perfectly, mixing culture / historical site visits with hiking in the mountains in Simien and Lalibela, great culinary experiences and an excursion to a local market close to Lalibela. He had great local guides in all locations and perfect recommendations for the accommodations. The organization of the trip was also very seamless and the communication too. I can highly recommend Aspire if you are looking for an authentic, friendly, fun, knowledgeable and highly organized tour company!

I had a great tour of Addis with Gashaw. He was very professional and made me feel at ease. I was travelling solo so that was very important. He was full of very interesting facts, I learnt more on this tour than many others I’ve done. Another company cancelled on me so I messaged Aspire the morning of the tour, they responded immediately and tailored the trip to suit my interests.
I would definitely do another trip with Aspire and Gashaw, highly recommend!

Gashaw is a very friendly and knowledgly guide.
He organized a trip for me to Danakil, Semien and Lalibela and we also did a Addis city tour together. Everything went well and he is also very helpful and punctual. Would definitely recommend him and book with him again if I come to Ethiopia again.

We had the most exotic experience we have ever had. We know almost 70 countries from all continents. This trip turned out flawlessly. @aspireethiopia organized it for Ethiopia, Egypt and Jordan. In the first country we visited the tribes of the Omo River in the south and the monolithic churches of Lallibela in the north. Always accompanied by Gashaw and local guides during the tour of Ethiopia.
Gashaw's kindness, attention and knowledge of the places made our trip the most fantastic of all. Tour companies from Egypt and Jordan were also very well chosen.
