Loved the architectural feature that this building is. Would be happy to see it restored and set up as a tourist centre or cafe.

This building is as close as you'll find to a national landmark in Eritrea. Though the Cathedrals and churchs are interesting, nothing stands out as much as the Tagliero Building. Also take a walk to the former FIAT garage/factory, located 200m from this building.

Nice, but I did not think it was that impressive as the story has it in the guide books. I understand the design is Art Deco and all - judge for yourself

the supposedly most iconic building in Asmara is getting old fast, across the street an ugly high-rise, next to if the IGA building and smelly diesel cars and trucks rolling by. Could think of a better destination than this.

Fiat Tagliero is one of the many amazing architectural innovations in Asmara built by the Italians. For architectural hunters, Asmara would be a heaven, see a book: "Asmara: Africa Modernist City"

Extravagant structure in the form of airplane. Built in the late 30's of the XXth century this is the best example of italian futuristic architecture in Asmara.

essential, a perfect example of the Italian colonial era that left the streets and neighborhoods of Asmara full of beautiful buildings, palaces, theaters, restaurants and hotels

A walk round Asmara is partly a stroll through an elegant colonial past with some quite exceptional buildings.

Incredible architecture and futuristic style considering it is almost 80 years old! It looks like an airplane! It is currently fenced up, a few decrepit cars parked inside, and a sign saying that it is under refurbishment although there is no visible works in progress....More
