Augustine Tours ensured every single detail of my trip in East Africa (Rwanda, Uganda, DRC and Burundi) was carefully (and wisely) organized. Based on their experience, they can guide you to customize one of their basic itineraries to focus on your own priorities. They always engage into an efficient communication as well. I am totally satisfied with Augustine and his team. My local guides were Eugene and Hypolite: outstanding performance from both of them! I highly recommend Augustine Tours.

I can't believe how well everything was planned out. Eugene is an incredible guide and driver. And Augustin was on top of everything. They both even made sure there was a vegetarian option for me wherever we went.
The hotels were immaculate.
This was truest one of the greatest trips i've ever taken.
when an area was undergoing some unexpected political strife, Eugene and Augustin got me to safety without a hitch, and had "back up" excursions all planned out that were incredible.
Thank you for a trip of a lifetime.

In search on the internet for a day tour in Burundi/Bujumbura, I noticed that Augustine Tours was most recommended. Contact by mail went very smoothly, he even helped me with an invitation letter, as requested by the Burundian embassy in the Netherlands. I had a morning flight from Kigali on August 29 and was picked up on time at the airport for a round tour through Bujumbura, afterwards visiting highlights like the Livingstone & Stanley memorial stone, Rusizi national park and Lake Tanganyika, where I enjoyed a meal on the beach (“Mukeke", fish only being found in this lake), later in the afternoon I was dropped back at the airport for my return flight to Kigali. A day very well spent, which I would highly recommend. Thanks!

I reached out to Augustine by email about touring the small but marvelous country of Burundi and we quickly arranged a short 3 day trip to Bujumbura and around the country. I inquired about home stays, hoping to take in some of the culture, and it turned out that although none had been arranged for, Augustin himself would be willing to house me for my stay! I took the bus in from Rwanda and met up with Augustin at the bus station, and as it was Easter, when we arrived at his home, I was invited to the celebration, complete with a roasted goat and plenty of lovely and friendly relatives. I was made to feel very much at home and experience the hospitality and geniality of Burundians. Over the next few days we took a tour around the city and the country. We visited a site that demonstrated traditional Burundian culture and tradition, and a history museum that covered pre-European invasion through the terrible time of genocide up to modern times. We saw a stone monument that marks the location of where the legendary Stanley and Livingstone camped. We walked up and down Bujumbura's beach where locals party and relax as though you are in California, and watched the famed drummers practice their craft. One positive legacy of the French occupation was an outstanding patisserie (pastry bakery) where I overindulged on ridiculously delicious ecclairs and treats and forgot I was in Burundi and not Paris. The next time I visit, I will have to arrange for tours in other countries, as Augustin also arranged for activities in neighboring countries.

As I was planning a tour of eastern Africa, I looked at the map, and thought, “hmmm, Burundi?”. I was solo after 6 weeks with friends, and my goal was a few days to just explore real Africa. I couldn’t get into the DRCongo, due to tourist abductions, park closure and the dreaded Ebola virus.
I looked up “short tours of Burundi”, and I came upon Augustin Tours. I read reviews, and saw they did a quickie 2 day tour, that included a stay at the nice resort on Lake Tanganyika, called Club du Lac Tanganyika. It looked nice, and it was perfect.

The tour guide was named “Hypolite” (interesting, but great name), and he was the sweetest, well educated, trust worthy tour guide you could ever hope for. Do yourself a favor and ask for him. His love of country, and concern for your comfort and big sweet Burundian smile will definitely make your trip to Burundi very memorable!

I enjoyed driving all over Burundi with him, and enjoyed sharing meals with him, and feel I made a good Burundian friend!

The tour was great, well planned and included my favorite event of my entire African trip....to see and behold the amazing Burundian drummers (just wait!)

I can not recommend Augustin tours and especially, Hypolite, more. Augustin answered all of my pre tour questions immediately. I was a bit nervous to go to a “less traveled, lesser known” African country, but I am SOOOO GLAD I WENT!

Just a short stopover in Bujumbura by my own. However with a Augustine Tours I went to the Drum sanctuary of Gishora, which was very professional and well organized. They provided a LOI to easier my visa application, as it is much more difficult in our days then before to get a visa. I would recommend Augustine Tours to anyone who wants to do the things fast and hassle free. Of course it will cost you. Many thanks for a grate time!

I travel a lot but this Bujumbura city day-tour with Hypolit was something of the best day-tours that I ever did.
I stayed in Kigali and flew for a day tour to Bujumbura. I booked this tour on Internet and to pay it in advance to a German bank account. It was not cheap, from a local view even expensive.
Yet, everything was perfect. The airport pick-up was perfect and the whole tour which lasted until 17.00, was a perfect day.
Especially mentioned was the boat trip on the river, the lunch on a fantastic place (BoraBoar Beach), market visits, fishing village and everything.
Hypolit was such a friendly and smiling person, professional and very flexible to all my request. This guy i would select for any other tours in the future.
Not to forget the driver. Good car and he drove very professional in a extremly hectic area with a lot of dirty streets. I felt me very secured by his driving style.
Was the best day for my week stay in this area.
