Yes, the tree is huge and amazing. And it's not far from town, you might think you can walk. We actually started to walk, and just as we were thinking "hmmm...this feels a little isolated", a park vehicle pulled up and told us it was "not safe". So we took a taxi, which was $20 round trip to go about 2 miles - this felt like NYC level taxi costs. That felt very expensive to get out and look at a tree for a few minutes. We saw other large baobab trees on safaris, and did not feel that the time/effort/cost to visit this tree was worth it. The tree is rather stark/barren in September, perhaps with foliage and in bloom it would have seemed more worth it?

Even when you have seen as many baobabs as we have it is really worth going to this one. I have the impression that elephants and other dangerous animals are not so much around anymore

I wouldn't go out of my way; however, the historical element made this tree worthy of a photo opportunity. Across the street are many locals selling their wares, many of which looked very interesting and of good quality.

The big tree is away from the main town area. However, the big tree was an awesome experience, to read the history and be in its presence. The locals have a small market, still in its start up fase, but so friendly, and they also share history with you. Stop and support them, as they are not near the tourist hub and offer affordable prices on curios. We saw elephant and bird species right around the corner from them on Zambezi drive.

Definitely a big tree and the locals are some proud of it. It's a nice ride out to it and kind of interesting.

We were taken to The Big Tree by a tour guide after a tour of Victoria Falls.
It was a complete waste of time as the tree is not worth a stop.
I wouldn’t go out of my way to view it.

If you have not seen a large baobab tree it may be worth a look. We took a short detour on the way back to our Lodge from the Falls. Inevitably there were many folk there trying to sell you stuff. It's an interesting tree but I honestly would not make a special trip to go there.

We were shown here and given that, it was worth the trip. It really is huge, and around 1200 years old, that is pretty special. Worth a peek while at vic falls.

This is where the To ga people used to come and meet. On this very big tree. It is a baobab tree. Near the Zambezi if you come walking you may find crocodiles too roaming .
