It is an interesting site, but currently under the control of a crazy cleric (changed the locks on the ministry which is in charge of managing mosques). No access to even the courtyard, women not welcome.

One of the nicest mosques ive seen. The architecture is definitely unique and the vibe is just great. Definitely worth a visit.

Not much to tell about something you cannot see. I guess if you are Muslim and can go in it is probably impressive

This is an amazing islamic monument with an authentic architecture. History is on every corner and can be seen and felt everywhere. I have been fascinated by the pillars, the wood roof and how they are decorated. I would recommend any Tunis visitor to not...More

A visit to Tunis cannot be complete with visiting Zitouna Mosque, located in the old city with a 1300 year history brings all the warmth and nostalgia of the good old days

There are specific times this mosque is open to the non-Muslim public. I visited mid-morning and was told, very politely, to come back at 2pm.
