This is the second time I've been to the Serengeti, Seronera is in the central region of the park. It is good year round for leopards, gazelle, elephants and birds. This is the most consistent area in the park to see leopards, no matter where the migration is.

The Seronera area was filled with migration wildebeests, zebra, and lions galore. We were there mid January. Originally we were booked in Seronera Wildlife Lodge but it is closed for renovations due to a fire last year. The airstrip is about 30 seconds from the lodge.

We spent 24 hours and a night here, and it was exactly what I had envisaged an African plain to be. Highlights were the wilderbeast migration and the amount of lions. Pairs, prides, would be mates, solitary beasts; we never stopped being excited by seeing more. The contrast with Ngorongoro crater was amazing - not in terms of animals but... More

This is one of the best places to see big cats in Tanzania. We always spend a few days in the area and always come away with great images. Migration season is always good.

We loved being in our jumpity jeep, bumping all over the savanna, up and down in our safari seats trying to get the best glimpse, the greatest watch of any animals nearby or even far away . Spotting leopards lounging in trees, elephants (and so close to the road), hippos celebrating cooly in clusters in mud ponds, with crocodiles on... More

We spent Christmas Day on a game drive with Safari HQ, our guide Chichi had the most amazing eyesight and could spot all the animals from a distance (while driving very safely!). We loved it, the highlight of our trip and something we will remember forever.

No wonder you see only Serengeti on Nat Geo or Animal Planet. We were able to see all the animals that we dreamt of - lion, leopard, cheetah, hippo, rhino.
