- Wilson GUnited Kingdom1 contributionHIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!Excellent organization and communication in the months leading up to the Tanzania safari. The trip was organised for us by Tanzania Horizon Safaris. We did a 7 days family safari in Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire and we were very pleased with the job that they did. Everything went very smoothly and I felt that we were in safe and professional hands. Our guide, Jackson, was fantastic. So knowledgeable, a fantastic sense of humour and entirely flexible to our needs. He really became one of the family and totally made our trip! His remarkable knowledge of each area, the animals and their behaviours, and an eagle eye meant we saw some phenomenal sights. The lodges we stayed at were all beautiful and each very different which made every new location a surprise. I would wholeheartedly recommend Tanzania Horison Safaris - we had an amazing experience with themVisited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 7, 2023

- Consolata MLuxembourg City, Luxembourg8 contributionsSATISFIEDWe expected Serengeti to be amazing and I must say we were not disappointed. We saw so many animals within 3 days we spent in the marvellous plains. Elephants, buffaloes, lions, gazelles, hippos, warthogs, ostriches, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, you name it. Many thanks to our wonderful guide, Beatus, and our host company (Angelino Adventures) for the great organisation from the beginning to the end.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 19, 2023

He also had a sixth sense to find the animals! He would see things that were impossible to spot and I still don't understand how he did that. We saw many many animals and even catched a crossing in the Mara river when most of the other cars missed it. The accommodation was very comfortable as well and the staff was very attentive and friendly. Everything went as planned, we really recommend Tanzania Horizon Safari to anyone who wishes to visit Tanzania 🇹🇿ÂVisited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 21, 2023

Visiting Serengeti has always been a dream and September this year was a perfect time to explore the marvellous plains. The experience was beyond explanation. The great migration was absolutely remarkable. We saw moments we used to watch on television. Many thanks to Beatus, our safari guide, for his professionalism and experience about wildlife. Our group of 6 had the time of our lives, surrounded by the stunning landscapes and incredible wildlife. A special thanks to our guide, Sabas, whose knowledge and passion for the animals made the journey unforgettable. Sabas, you're a rock star! Also, big thanks to Elizabeth for flawlessly arranging everything. We stayed at ThornTree Camp which was ideally located. The accommodation was very cozy, and the food was delicious. From lions to elephants, every moment was a thrill. We visited central serengeti, maswa region, Lake natron and tarangire, all with Tanzania Horizon Safaris and our guide Sabas who amazed us with all his knowledge and great skills to spot all animals. Only thingbwe regret is that we didn't make it 8 days to have some additional time for the hike up to oldonyo lengai the holy mountain of the Maasai. If you ever get the chance go for it but we were too tired. Thanks to the great organization!Visited December 2023Traveled with friendsWritten February 6, 2024
- Victoria JAustralia11 contributionsThe fantastic Tanzania Safari with Nafika ToursWe also booked 5 days safari (Tarangire,Ndutu, Nrongongo, Serengeti) with Nafika Tours and our expectations were well exceeded. Everything was seamless organized, the lodges were nice, comfortable and clean with friendly staff. But the real asset of the trip was Hilary our driver and tour guide from Nafika Tours . His name was given us by friends who did a safari with him a few years ago. Hilary found every day exceptional opportunities to watch and picture lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, buffalos, Antelopes, hyenas, elephants, warthogs, hippos, rhinos, birds of prey, chameleons and many other animals. The safari car was very comfortable and always clean. He understands the need of a photographer regarding light, distance, posing and position and he knows a lot about all of these animals. I return home with more top wildlife pictures I ever dreamed of. On top – Hilary knows how to drive the car safely in such difficult environment and he is always on a good mood. We intent to go next year or the year after back for a safari in the northern Serengeti. We will do it again with Nafika Tours provided Hilary will be our guide.Visited February 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 3, 2024

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about all things Tanzania and gave us plenty of interesting information as we went through towns and cities, not only on game drives. Everything was arranged from the moment we arrived at the airport to the time we were dropped off at the next airport to depart. We had a five days Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. The Lodges were fantastic and we were lucky to see a lot of animals and most of them within zero distance! This trip was just perfect and We will recommend your tours to our family and friends. So impressive wildlife! And a superb organization by Tanzania Horizon Safaris. Very recommendable!Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 10, 2024

Mgalaa Expeditions exceeded our expectations. Everything was well arranged for our trip, we booked the 1 week luxury safari tour, it included the accommodations, the meals and the tour guide with the open roof Toyota safari.
From the the day of the arrival the driver “Methew” was waiting for us in the airport he took us to the first hotel we spent our first night and explained to us the tour program. The next morning we started an amazing 6 days safari tour starting from the amazing Tarangire National Park and ending in the Wonderful Serengeti National Park. “Methew the driver was very knowledgeable, respectful, polite and patient with us and all our questions about the animals and the culture in Tanzania. I highly recommend this company "Mgalaa Expeditions" if you’re looking for the once in a life time safari trip.
Also you have to visit the Massai tribe, it’s a must don’t miss it.

We took a private family tour carefully planned by our journey designer Edgar where he's taken into account all our requests and exceptions. He's been pivotal in designing the right route, what to see, what to expect for a family of safari seekers at the "elementary" level.
This is quite critical since what you see is assessed by what you expected in the first place. Me and my 3 kids (16, 19 and 10 years old) traveled with 8 days with Mgalaa Expeditions and the experience was unique for the 4 of us. The kids still ask about the driver, John and it was one month ago.
The trip was planned only with 2 month in advance and the prompt reply of my emails was the key for everything being possible.
Everything was very organized, since day one, picking at airport, till returning back to it.
John the driver was very experienced and full of patience to handle with high drive kids and their stubborn "things".. He really knew how to adequate the logistic of 5 days full time safari with young kids!
About the Safari itself, it was an amazing experience, with John knowledge, it seems we were inside national geographic episode. We had very lucky and saw everything what was expected.
We could think 8 days of Safari it's hard specially with kids of this age, but even with the youngster, 8 days passed without noticing For that, besides the guide/driver, it
has contributed all the wonderful organization of Mgalaa Expeditions, and their unique safari, the lodge is very nice cline and net.
At the end I may say: 5 STARS for you, Edgar and your guide John
and share my son's last day comment: "it seems we began only yesterday and it was already finishing? I want to return on the dry season!"
I strongly recommend for anyone who wishes a "boutique" safari experience to have a word with Mgalaa Expeditions to doing anything upfront. its Exellent.!

We stayed in the Central Serengeti in March for 4 days. It seems to be, that we had bad luck, as the heavy completely unnormal rains of January and February let the grass grow very high and make many animals to leave the area. As well the roads were so bad, that we could only stay on the main roads. So was saw e.g. 1 (!) Elefant in 4 days. Also hardly any other antilopes and zebras. We had also lovely moments with lions on one of the rock-islands or a serval cat coming along. But we had to drive long distances and out guide really had a hard job!
Neither the less the number of camps must have increased significantly. And 20+ cars around one lion was normal. We had even traffic jams at a good spot. For a leopard on a tree so many cars were rushing to, that we denied to go there.
Over all Serengeti became very expensive and the great feeling to watch animals in peace is almost history. I would carefully check on two things - how many camps are in the area I want to go and does climate change influence this area, so that animals do not move as they normally do …..

We booked a 5 day Safari with Nafika Tours, we visit 4 parks (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater, and Lake Manyara).
A really breathtaking adventure, first of all we had the best guide (Edween) and best vehicle, Edween were fun and full of knowledge and they were happy to share it with us. They were 100% in and went the extra miles in order forms to see the most animals. I truly recommend Nafika Tours tours for your activities in Tanzania.
We felt very comfortable in the able safe hands of guide Edween. He gave tips and lots of information about the parks. He has been a safari guide for 13 years and knew the safari circuit like the back of his hand. The weather was fairly good and perfect for game drives with numerous animals along Seronera river in Serengeti and other water spots in Lake Manyara. Ngorongoro Crater was magical!
We had an amazing time at the selected lodges, all organized by Nafika Tours at very reasonable costs.
I urge you to look no further because Nafika Tours is the best.

A wonderful place full of wildlife. Thanks to Angelino Adventures who provided us with the knowledgeable and very passionate guide. We have no complants at all. We saw two prides of lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, gazelles, and zebras just to mention a few. The hippo pool was also very dramatic full of hippos and wild birds.

We spent 6 amazing days with Tanzania Horizon Safaris, we visited the Northern National Parks ( Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire & Lake Manyara): Our kids and us really enjoyed the trip and learned o lot about the country, national parks and of'course animals. Due to Patrick's knowledge of the area we saw complete "big five" and many other animals. Nothing was a problem and he was always ready to fulfill our wishes. I can only recommend this tour and of course Tanzania Horizon SafarisÂ

We actually did 2 trips with them - a safari and the Kilimanjaro trekking. The safari itself exceeded our expectations, the numbers of animals we saw, and the friendly guide made the entire trip very enjoyable.
The jeeps were really clean, comfortable and everyone had a window seat!
We finished it all the way to the summit thanks to the brilliant guides. I have food allergy and they were very careful and courteous of my food needs. The whole mountain staff was great and we had a very positive experience.
The food was fantastic! It was a great mix of quality comforts of home with some specials from the African continent. I love the variety of fruits that we don't see in the U.S.
For reference we completed the Machame Route for 7 days & 4 Days Safari in Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro in December 2020.
Exceptional appreciations to Exceed Expectations Tours.

We booked 6 Days Safari with Licious Adventures and we had wonderful days with our driver Jackson who drove us wherever we wanted and showed us the best places in the Serengeti, the Tarangira and Ngorongoro. We had a lot of fun from the very beginning and enjoyed every second with him since he is extremely knowledgeable and can handle the car in every terrain. Finally we managed to see the big five in a few days, however, we enjoyed the entire wildlife and the fabulous landscape. We stayed in nice lodges and also in tents where I have to admit that I preferred the tents with the sound of the animals during the night which were always close to our tent - the hyaena killed by a lion at 4 p.m. in front of a tent next to us or the buffalos surrounding our tent over night wow!
I would highly recommend Licious Adventures to anyone thinking of doing a safari in Tansania.Â

We have visited Tanzania in January 2020, our trip included Mt Meru climb and safari in Tarangire , Ngorongoro crater and serengeti. We were in group of 12 people, including 4 teenagers.
For all of these days we have chosen Mgalaa Expeditions and that was very good decision, , starting from the very beginning,
We started with Meru trekking. Our guides were very professional, prepared us to the climb, taking care about everything, from water containers to daily health checks or briefings. We were looked after by the whole team, we enjoyed every moment with them, had full trust in them, but also lots of fun. I don't think we would make to the summit by ourselves. With the big group, during the night hours to the summit, each one of our group had difficult moments, but we always had a great support of the team: guides Nickson and Frank, and porters: Paul, Laurence Methew, Melau, Rafael, Innocent. Mgalaa Expeditions, thank you for bringing us there and back safely, in good health and in fantastic mood.
After Mt Meru we took safari trips to 3 national parks. Again, our drivers and guides, Alfaki, and Peter were great, experienced and knew when and where it is worthy to go or to wait. We one also recognition to our "stomach engineer" for delicious meals.
That was dream vacation for us. It wouldn't work that way without experienced and engaged team of Mgalaa Expeditions. I can proudly say I have friends in Tanzania now ,sure i highly recommend

Who could we organise a transfer from our hotel to Seronera Airport with.. dont want to book with our hotel....
Written October 5, 2019
As the previous reviewers said, safari companies also do the transfers.

Anyone knows how to book a game drive? And how much would it cost?
Written February 10, 2019
You can book with a tour operator based in Arusha who will include landcruiser, park fees, hotel fees in your fees and book all of them for you.
You can also book with a lodge located in Serengeti directly and can book game drives with them. You then need to arrange your transport to Seronera. There are regular flights from arusha to Seronera and back.
Park fees is USD 71 per day and concession fees is USD 59 per night. On top of these you need to account for lodge fees, vehicle fees, (Ngorongoro transit fees of USD 71 if you are driving), flight fees

I am flying out of Seronera to Zanzibar, but worried about how strict they are with baggage weight as they say it’s 15kg which is nothing for a 2 week holiday, any advice or bad experiences to share?
Written February 3, 2019
I have never taken that chance as I organise safaris myself and am usually with guests. But I am aware of people who have faced such problems especially with hard tops even when they have been within the weight limit. These flights sometimes need to carry heavy equipment to and from camps and it can be unlucky for some if the luggage cannot fit inside the hold or in the small space behind the seats. All the best! Pl keep some time between your Serengeti flight and the Dar-Zanzibar connection - especially if you need a visa on arrival.
Written February 6, 2019
I've been told that within the national parks, the safari drives must stay on the roads and can't get up close to the animals, unless they happen to be close to the designated roads. Is this true? I did a safari outside of Krueger National Park, on a private reserve, where we got right up next to the animals and it was magical. On a day trip to a national park in Richard's Bay, we were not allowed to leave the road. What is the situation here?
Written May 22, 2018
Yes, that is correct. The safari vehicles must stay on the roads, and actually I prefer this to vehicles driving off road. Give the wildlife the space they warrant. Don't worry, you will see lots, closeby and further away. Enjoy the vast beauty of the Serengeti. I loved every single second when I was there in November 2017.

Hello,
Driving from Isebania border by car will take 4hours to 5hours as the distance to be covered is estimated to be kilometers 197.
While driving you will be able to see different kind of animals and of course since you will be inside the National Park, you will have to observe the regulations of driving with in the National park.
