We have book our safari from Moshi with Eric. This experience was amazing, and unforgettable ! Our private guide Amadeus was really great, with a lot of information about all wildlife and flora. He was very listening about our requests and preferences. The cooker Chef was excellent for all the meal ! Thanks a lot at both of them for this trip ! The car is good. We recommend this company for all the safari in this area ! Valentin & Céline

We did a private safari with them. All perfect and very safe. Just in three days we saw four of five big five. It was very very good, the owner was very attentive he called us during safari, and at the end he came to our lodge to ask us about safai. Also the drive (Amadeus) was the best game driver, very experienced and asking us if all was good and informing us about animals more than nobody. When we finish Erick still asking us if we would need help we can contact him. Without doubt i will repeat.

We went on the four day Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire safari in June 2019. Erick was extremely responsive when organising the trip and even came to see us the night before we set off to ensure everything was in order. Our guide, Tuma, was friendly and highly knowledgeable - we ended up seeing all of the big five bar a rhino and saw some amazing sights such as lions and hyenas hunting. The price was extremely good compared to other quotes we received and included the transfer to and from Kilimanjaro airport, which was much appreciated. We camped in order to best take advantage of our mornings in the park - this was fine and worked well for us. Note that it is standard to bring USD for tips for the guide and chef.

I booked my safari with Joining mostly off the back of these reviews. Overall, my experience was good. It was a five day, four night trip, staying in lodges rather than tents. I knew I would be sharing the safari with tent dwellers but was told that some others would also be with me at the lodges. If you are on a strict budget then I understand that you might go for the tent option. But if you can afford it then I thoroughly recommend the lodge option. It's not like you do this every holiday you go on. I undoubtedly enjoyed the experience way more than I would have had I chosen tent. I'm not talking tents like the luxury one I stayed in in the Serengeti. Think more, muddy music festival, with toilets to match. In advance of the safari I communicated with Erick who was helpful and provided a lot of information. But I didn't always get answers to my questions. And I sometimes had to wait a while for a response. There was one particular miscommunication which annoyed me. I had asked about binoculars and was told that every vehicle was equipped with a pair to be shared but everyone. I asked if I could rent a pair for myself. Upon starting the safari there was one pair in the car. Which I assumed was for everyone. As there was only one. At the end of the safari the driver tried to charge me extra for this pair, saying it was just for me. Well if so, where was the pair which was for everyone to use? It might be a cultural difference but as far as I'm concerned, if you say something is a certain way in your communications then that is what I expect, unless told otherwise. Likewise if I ask a question of you as a business owner, I expect answers and not to have to follow up myself. The safari experience was phenomenal. The landscapes and wildlife made for a real 'Once in a lifetime' experience. Regarding the accommodation at which I stayed, I have written individual reviews of but I can break it down briefly here too: Escarpment - absolutely the lap of luxury (spent two nights here). Serengeti Wilderness Camp - truly amazing experience sleeping in a luxury tent right amongst the animals. Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge - crappy and ageing, but the view is amazing. I had been told that there were other people on the safari who would be staying at the lodges, but this turned out not to be the case. So I was on my own in the evenings, after the tent people had been dropped off. I didn't feel that great about sitting and eating dinner on my own when everyone else at these places was in a family group/couple. Erick explained that the others who were supposed to stay in lodges had cancelled. Just a couple of points worth thinking about if you want to stay in lodges and share the safari with tent dwellers: 1, You will lose time, as the camps and lodges are not in the same places. We dropped the tent guys off and then drove to the lodge locations and consequently lost hours of daylight which could have been spent relaxing and enjoying the accommodation on which you've spent money. 2, Our vehicle was not of high quality. My seat was bent backwards and needed replacing. The sunroof (which you open up so you can stand and look out) partially broke. One of the four arms holding it up snapped. This was an old weld so not a new problem. Our guide did try and get it fixed but was unable to do so. So it stayed like this for the remaining half of the trip. When we were leaving the Escarpment lodge, another Joining Safaris vehicle was coming to pick up guests staying there, and it stopped to chat with our guide. This vehicle was clearly newer and of a better standard than the one we were in. Surely these Escarpment guests who were not sharing with tent dwellers. So you get what you pay for. Or at least tent dwellers do, and if you stay in lodges but share the safari with them, you get what they pay for too. Whilst it was clearly just a matter of personality, I was not very satisfied with our guide. David, if I remember rightly. He was quite withdrawn and didn't have much to say. He didn't take any interest in us and often did not respond when we asked questions. On more than one occasion I followed up a question with 'Should I take that as a yes or a no?' as he didn't really answer. I actually stopped asking many questions about the wildlife etc because I knew the response would be so curt. As mentioned, we would drop the tent people off and then go to lodges. But sometimes this was a long drawn out process and I was offered no explanation. Would have been nice if he'd kept me in the loop instead of just leaving me wondering what was going on. Obviously he was a bit of an introvert. I don't doubt that he knew a lot about the animals and environment. But his people skills were somewhat lacking, and this took something away from the experience. The cook (mostly for the tent dwellers but he made a couple of meals for me too) was friendly and the food was good. I enjoyed the safari greatly. Being out in the wilderness, amongst the African wildlife is a truly unforgettable experience. And I would recommend Joining Safaris. Though I would advise against sharing with others who have different accomodation to you. And would not recommend the particular guide we had.
