We travelled to Tanzania, especially Zanzibar with my girlfriend for a holiday. We also wanted to do a Safari so asked about it from Safari56, whose manager Yonafika I happened to know in advance. We got a very good offer and booking and other practical stuff went smoothly. The manager was waiting for us at the ferry when we arrived from Zanzibar to Dar, with our guide, Michael, also present. Michael was very pleasant person and professional as a guide and it was a great pleasure to travel with him. The accommodation in Mikumi, Camp Bastian, was positive surprise: food was excellent, rooms were comfortable and the staff were kind.
All in all I would recommend Safari56 to anyone who is interested in any kinds of activities in Tanzania, mostly Safari. The company is reliable and customer's needs are truly taken into account.
Also a little tip for those who are starting their trip from Zanzibar and have to travel to Dar via ferry: buy the ferry tickets in advance if possible. The ferry can be sold out, in our case even week before, so we had to buy VIP tickets that cost nearly double.

I booked Safari 56 after my Tanzanian friend saw the strong endorsement on their Facebook page. I needed to do a 3 day safari in between my stints in Dar and in Zanzibar. I warns;rt disappointed. I had a briefing by Allen and Kenneth the day before and then was picked up by Habib the morning afterwards. We spent a great day driving through Ngorogoro, then to Serengeti and then back through Ngorogoro. Our guide Habib was excellent. He was invariably the most keen sighted and first on the scene for a special moment. I told him I dreamt of seeing a leopard and he duly found two for me that very day. One on a rock and another up a tree with a gazelle as prey. Habib experience numerous difficulties outride his control during the trip (a flat tire, getting stuck in a muddy pothole and finally a broken brake) but was basically unflappable throughout. He combined all the qualities you need in a good teacher or guide, both deep knowledge of his craft (in this case the flora and fauna of Tanzania) - and trust me, we all bombarded him with questions constantly! But also, you need passion, and it was clear how much Habib loves the animals and treasures his ability to show people the pride of Tanzania. It was hiss first safari since lockdown and he told us how much it meant to him to bye out there again. We saw all the Big Five even a rhinoceros albeit at some distance out. But it was the guide and his cook Peter - who cooked gourmet food under the most challenging conditions - who really made the trip great. The whole experience was very positive. And most importantly it is a fraction of the price of some other safaris I was quoted. I would recommend Safari56 unreservedly. Chris

We had an excellent experience organized by Akida, in the heart of Tanzania, in one of the most beautiful and virgin place on Earth. The trip was managed by Gaston, our guide and driver, who took us on the red road to the National Park. We”ve been accommodated in HippoCamp, the place managed by Benson who did the best to offer good sleeping room and food, by the river, where we had the best sunset ever. The safari was so incredible, lucky enough to meet all animals living in Africa. Birds, small or large, lions resting in the picnic area copying humans, impalas who live separate in female and male herds, zebras, the wonderful giraffes, hippos, lots of them, who have the thinnest skin despite their huge size, crocodiles, warthogs who are as funny as Lion King embellish them. Walking safari was another beautiful experience, worth taking it. We fully recommend working with Akida and his team.

My friend and I went to Tanzania very last minute. And we were advised to reach out to akida from safari 56 tours, for a safari.
He was very quick in responding and was able to make a great itinerary for us.
He was with us all the way through our travel.
And we slept in an amazing bungalow tent. Meeting the maasai people was a true experience and a day later the safari was unbelievable.
Would highly recommend this tour. The place we slept was good, nice food, a pool and clean tents. Kr marlou (netherlands)

We booked a day trip to Mikumi National Park with Akida from Safari56. Despite booking on short notice, Akida and the tour guide Michael arrived at the hotel before our scheduled pickup time of 3:30am and we ventured out to Mikumi from Dar Es Salaam, approximately a 5 hour journey.
Once at the park, we spent hours spotting a variety of wildlife while Michael shared his in-depth knowledge of the animals and their behavior. This was by far the best part of the journey as we learned so much.
After a few hours of driving around the park, we took an hour lunch break and ventured back out to see if we could find a lioness and her 3 cubs that were spotted earlier in the day. At the end of the day we didn't end up seeing a lion or cheetah but thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and look forward to the next one.
Overall Safari56 was very professional, well equipped, and above all they are very passionate about what they do and it shows. Would highly recommend booking with Safari56!! Thanks again Michael and Akida!

It was just awesome! Unexpectedly it was a private tour for two of us - i guess because of lack of tourists. They picked us up with a proper jeep in Dar es Salaam and took us to Mikumi national park. We spent most of the time in the park driving with open roof, watching the wildlife. The time we spent there was only on out decision and our Guide Joseph was really exited about everything about animals and plants there. So we got good explanation about everything. It was also pretty cool with the distance and respect for wild animals - no hunting for them and driving offroad to see them close for fancy photos - althougt we saw a lot of this behavior done by drunk russian dummies. Yeah and the accomodation, food and service was gorgeos. Strong emotions, still absorbing it.We also visited one Masaji village which good as well. The only thing that sucked was going there and back, it took ages! About 6 hours to get there and almost 9 painfull hours to get back. But sure, it was not a mistake of our guides, it is just the traffic here. Anyway, for the price it was more than worth it!

Our holiday was in 2022 with different destinations in Tanzania and Malawi. In these holidays we stayed 9 days in Dar Es Salaam which we thought was too long and wouldn’t recommend. 5 or 6 are plenty to discover the city. But this meant that we did not have enough time to go the larger parks (Serengeti or Arusha, ...).
I do believe that, thanks to Safari 56, we had the next best thing that was possible in our timeframe.
We went with a taxi to there offices after making an appointment via WhatsApp (they respond and communicate very fast and easy via Whatsapp) to discuss a safari in Mikumi national park. They organized for us a 3 day trip with multiple moments in mikumi park for nice game drives and one hike in Udzungwa mountains national park.
We had, as 'normal tourist', the greatest time. We are not super sporty or adventurous, and this trip that safari 56 had planned for us was exactly how you would want it for a first safari with short time. All the appointments and arrangements we had planned and payed for were exactly as promised. Safari 56 and there team of guides are very very professional and we would recommend them 100%. We had a private safari, our guide Michael was very knowledgeable and it was equally relaxing as jaw droppingly beautiful.
10/10, would do it again! Thanks safari 56! A&C

I contacted Safari 56 to organise a hike in the Pugu Forest Reserve. Akida responded immediately providing all the information I needed. He arrived spot on time at my hotel on Saturday morning and the drive from Dar es Salaam to Pugu Hills was about 75 minutes. The hike itself took about 3 hours (at my request as I wanted to take a lot of photos). Our guide Benjamin shared significant knowledge about the reserve from the history of the reserve, the developments around the dams, the trees and plants as well as the animals and insects in the reserve.
Upon learning that I had not left the hotel for a week to see the city, Akida threw in a bonus city tour including a stop at a local restaurant, Nyama Choma Joint, serving ugali and beautifully grilled T-Bone steak. My best meal all week!

We did one-day Mikumi National Park tour. One day tour is a bit tough but if you do not have enough time for safari Mikumu is a good place for a day-trip. The driver was on time for the pickup. It takes 3 hours to get there. We saw a lot of animals; lion, buffalo, impala, elephants, giraffe, baboons and differrent type of birds etc. We saw a lion family with 5-6 members and luckily we saw two lions mating. Our driver was also our tour guide and he gave a lot of information about the animals we saw. It was a great tour and great experince. Thank you guys.
Note: Only warning is about the food. We had lunch in the National Park restaurant but it is not the best restaurant in Tanzania. I mean if you are sensitive about food, try to pack some good snack before the tour just in case if you won't be happy with the options in the restaurants.
