Day safari to Mikumi National Park

If you're too short on time in Tanzania for a multiday safari, you can still enjoy the chance to see African wildlife on this full-day tour from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park , located at 3230 square km ,between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the south-east . Mikumi National Park is home to giraffe , that biologists consider the link between the Masai giraffe and the reticulated or Somali giraffe , elephants, lions, zebras, leopards, impala, eland, kudu, black antelope, baboons, wildebeests and buffaloes. According to local guides at Mikumi, chances of seeing a lion that climbs a tree trunk is larger than in Manyara (famous for being one of the few places where the lions exhibit this behavior). At about 5 km from the north of the park, there are two artificial pools inhabited by hippos. More than 400 different species of birds also inhabit the park.

It was a great trip on weekend. We saw all expected animals so close and even frightening. All 3 days activities were exciting! Special thanks to the bushman guide at walking safari - very clever, well educated and artistic guy pretending to be wild! )))

Everything was very well arranged, Sylwia was super helpful in organizing everything, especially personalizing our tour according to our specific requirements. Her service was very personal and she was always available to help. She also helped us to book the flight from lake Manyara to Zanzibar. Absolutely everything about this tour was great. We booked the semi-luxury version and the camps were amazing. Service was excellent and we highly recommend to book your safari with HelloTanzania. Every details will be arranged and it’s 100% worth the money. Thanks again Sylwia.

Sylwia was always very responsive and helpful with all our enquires before and during the trip. She has helped to set up everything from the airport to the safari camp and back. Our driver, Iddy, was super friendly and professional with a confortable van. Plus, we really appreciatted the camp upgrade, we went to camp Bastian and it went above our expectations. Regarding the safari, we were lucky with the drivers Amiri and Yakari, however we weren't so lucky with the animals and the weather (march is raining season and we knew it, but fortunately it only rainned after lunch and in the days in Zanzibar we were presented with lovely sun). Thank you!

My friend and I have recently come home from an amazing holiday organised by Sylwia from Hello Tanzania! We booked pretty last minute and changed our dates at least once but nothing was too much trouble to organise. Sylwia organised the whole holiday, she suggested an itinerary and we went with it (not really knowing ourselves what to do) and we were so pleased to have followed her suggestions of what to do and when to do it to make the most out of our time. She also gave us options to arrive earlier and stay later (but we didn’t have time) but it was great to know it was an option and we would have had support while we were there. We booked our own flights to and from Tanzania but all our transfers to and from hotels and airports and the flight from Zanzibar to the mainland were arranged perfectly and ran smoothly, all our drivers turned up at the right time, knew where we were going and got us there safely (and were very friendly). We arrived in Zanzibar and had a few days there, we had one day of terrific trips booked in advance and were given the information to book more once we decided exactly what we wanted to do. The spice tour, prison island tour and stone town tours arranged for us by Hello Tanzania were a real must! And the Cheetah’s Rock and Blue Safari Tours we did were also excellent. Of course a day at the hotel lounging by the pool and catching the sun was also extremely welcome. We flew to the mainland for Safari and had the most amazing experience seeing so so many animals, from thousands of zebras to lions in trees and elephants crossing the road! We went to a different place each day in the hopes of seeing as many animals as possible, it was epic! Again everything organised by Sylwia ran smoothly, all the glamping, the hotels, safaris and transfers! For our last night we were driven to a cultural experience to meet Masai people and then past Kilimanjaro to stay in a rather swanky place with a great pool, wonderful food and the most relaxing massages. Sylwia also made herself readily available by email (even on New Years Eve and New Years Day) so we could ask her questions or for confirmation and her replies were always prompt. I am gluten free and dairy free which is a worry when travelling but everywhere we went had been informed in advance and there was always plenty on offer for me to eat. I could not recommend Hello Tanzania highly enough and if I were to go back I would certainly be booking with them again!

We were on a 5-day safari with Hello Tanzania( Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Tarangire, Lake Manyara). We chose the offer from several others - it was not the cheapest, but within our budget. We did not want to risk choosing a little cheaper but little known companies. and it was the right choice. I do not regret - amazing safari, accommodation in beautiful places in amazing camps. We saw a lot of animals, we spent amazing moments in the bosom of nature, service exactly as described in the offer. I recommend.
