A lot of greenery year round in this park. Nice change from other dusty areas but makes it more difficult to see animals, such as the elephants. There's are some open areas where you can see zebras, wildebeests and giraffes. Thanks to the altitude, there are no mosquitos. Also a nice view on the Kilimanjaro from different parts of this... I have been on a few safaris in various countries, but absolutely loved this small park. We did a self drive in a Toyota, would have been better in a 4x4 , but we got around everywhere just the same. You can pay by credit card on arrival, the machine wasn't working when we arrived, so they wanted dollars which... More

We visited Arusha National Park on a half day safari on the last of more than 8 days in Tanzania. After having experienced large game up close and personal at Ndwarkai lodge, we were INCREDIBLY disappointed with the safari experience here. You are only allowed to follow roads, not venture off road. We saw zebra, wildebeests, 3 varieties of monkeys... More

We started our trip here and I am very glad we did! The park is full of vegetation which makes it a bit tough to see all the animals but it is still very nice! It's a great place to view the Colobus monkey's and has the beautiful Mount Meru! We had this trip the day after we flew in... More

We are four canadian friends who came to Arusha for about three months for volunteering as students in dental medicine. We started our trip here with a four days safari trip to serengeti, tarangere, ngorogoro crater and lake manara in may and we absolutely loved it. We wanted to have another similar experience and thought about Arusha national park for... More

I really loved Tanzania and the beautiful things around it. 1997 was an El Niño year so many tourists had canceled their visit, which left the parks largely unattended due to the lack of migration of the animals. On the other hand I got to experience the country more like it was a few decades ago, not bombarded with tens... More

This our first stop on our 15 day safari booked through Basecamp Tanzania. It is a wonderful first stop with a picturesque view o! Mt. Meru. As soon as we entered the park we saw zebra and buffalo! We went on a walking safari with a local guide who was also amazing! We were able to get up close to... More

We spent half a day at Arusha National Park. Our main goal was to see the black and white colobus monkeys and the blue monkeys. We were disappointed not to meet too many of those. We were lucky to see giraffes, zebras, buffalos, hipos and flamingos and more. I really liked the reflections in Lake Momella. I highly recommend visiting... More
