You have to see this for yourself. What an incredible experience! The maze-like, narrow streets, multicolored buildings, organized chaos, beautiful carvings and tiles - I wish my trip had been longer. I could happily spend ages here. Do not miss! Make sure to get a tour guide - we used Said Private Day Tours and could not have been happier.... More

Explore without fear, without hesitation - the people are friendly, helpful, but some guides take you to the restaurants of their pals. Prices are always subject to bartering and must be bartered for the tags are high. Nice pottery and Moroccan crafts of varying quality and price. I have checked these throughout Morocco and Moroccan traders abroad. Pretty lanes if... More

The ancient fortress is atop a steep hill in the centre of the old part of Tangier. There is a museum in the old fortress and the streets twist around past mosques and intricate doorways. Exit the kasbah through the lower gate and you will find yourself in the medina; the old market area.

the whole of tangier is very impressive and fascinating.... the narrow streets do really have a nice feeling and atmosphere, but also quite freaky at the same time when street sellers are coming right after you wanting to see all their products, even if you do not want them. make sure to try local food in the restaurants along the... Great getting close to the culture of Morrocco. Wonderful shops and restaurants. The history is great too.

I took a day tour from Costa Del Sol. A bus ride followed by a ferry ride took me to Tangier. The ferry is large, comfortable and has a snack bar and souvenir shops. Very nice. We had a walking tour and visited a rug mart, a herbal store and a textile mart, along with the grand bazaar. Tangier is... More

Get a guide if this is your first time. Guides bombard me on the wharf. It is like a mob scene and can be scary for someone not accostomed to the culture...Many people actually turned around and refused to get off the ship. I haggled hard (operative word) to bring the guide down on price that started at $50 Euros... More

I found it quite good for a day or two. Not a lot to do apart from walking and seeing old houses. Lots of leather goods.

Our day in Tangier was the only day we had a guide. This certainly helped us wind our way through the Casbah and down to the markets, but we were disappointed. We were expecting more exciting and bizarre.
