We recently visited Spain and decided to take a day trip to Tangier. Followed the recommendation in Rick Steve's Spain Tour Book and contacted Aziz Benami Travel and his company did not disappoint. My email was responded to quickly and Aziz recommended the one day VIP Tour four our group of 4. He made all of our ferry arrangements and sent the reservation code to my email. No problems at the Tarifa ferry terminal checking in with the code. We were met at Tangier Port by Leila, our guide for the day (just after 10 am). She was a lovely lady who spoke perfect English and has an excellent knowledge of local and international history. We were transported around in a beautiful mini bus for only the 5 of us plus driver. Mohammed our driver, mastered the streets with ease and we really sat back and enjoyed the drive to our first stop - Cap Spartel. We spent about 20 mins wandering around and enjoying the views - beautiful beaches in that area and the countryside drive was lovely. The next stop was the Grotto of Hercules and again, the views were excellent and the opening from the cave trough to the Atlantic was really picturesque. We also had a chance to take a camel ride which was not as bad as we had anticipated - we had no problems getting on/off and a guide walked along with the camels. It was our choice to limit our time on the ride. We then made our way back to the city, enjoying the views, mansions and business area with a couple of viewing stops along the way. Our driver left us at the top of the Kasbah where we started our walk with Leila through the maze of tiny streets, providing a commentary throughout the walk. We stopped for our lunch at La Terraza de la Medina and we selected from a pre-arranged menu (two choices for appetizer and main course). Fresh Olives and local bread were a staple on the table. A Moroccan dessert and mint tea completed the meal. We were taken care of by many servers. Views overlooked the lower Medina and port from our patio table. Leila met us around 2:15 and we made our way to the Medina and really enjoyed the shops and markets. As we indicated we were not interested in any shopping, we only stopped for a few minutes in a souvenir store. We were not bothered by anyone on the street. Our tour finished at 4 pm and we were driven back to the port for our 5 pm Ferry. We paid cash for our full tour which included the ferry, transportation, lunch, camel ride and entrance fees to the cave, and the American Legion. An excellent day with Leila and all of the arrangements made by Aziz were appreciated and he communicated with me along the way, I cannot sing enough praises about Aziz Benami Travel and Aziz personally. He truly cares about his clients and making sure that they enjoy a positive Moroccan experience. Guide Leila was also a perfect match for our group of 4.…

As many people have commented, we too decided to use this company on the advice of Rick Steve’s. After booking several months in advance I had many questions and contacted Aziz a countless amount of times. I am sure he was tired of hearing from me but none the less he responded to each and every question I had. My wife and I did the VIP walking tour around the old parts of the city. Aziz arranged the ferry and kept me up to date on changes as they occurred. Upon arrival in Tanger we were met by Bachir, a very energetic and passionate guide who is a lifelong resident of Tangier. Bachir moved quickly up and down hills, all the time informing us of interesting historical facts about Tangier including the long term relationship of Morocco and the United States. We traveled through the streets and markets of Medina and the Casbah. We wanted to purchase a small carpet and Bachir took us to an excellent dealer where we were able to negotiate a price we were happy with. The tour included a meal at La Terraza del la Medina on the top floor overlooking the beautiful harbor. The food was plentiful and delicious and the wait staff could have been more friendly and attentive. At the end of the tour Bachir arranged for a taxi to take us to out hotel and made sure we got the best price. If you are looking to ar range a private tour in Morocco I would recommend Aziz and his company. they can tailor the tour to your needs and wants. Just a note if you are planning to do the walking tour...be sure you are physically able to do the hills. If not, arrange for a car tour. Bachir had worked int eh United States as a teacher and had perfect English. He seemed to know everyone on the street as we walked around.…
