About
Our Cooking Experiences are designed to give guests an opportunity to engage culture through food in life-transforming ways. The setting is an historic art-deco flat located between the city port and the Old City’s Gran Socco. Our team of locals warmly and skillfully welcomes and leads each visitor through every step in the preparation of a sumptuous Moroccan meal. Along with preparing your own tagine or couscous, the Experience highlights Morocco's famed tea ceremony, bread-making, as well as an Experience Leader-guided tour to the public oven and spice shop. Things always wind down over a meal prepared by the guests themselves as memories continue to be made over conversation with the Experience Leader and her Assistants. Storytelling, sharing from the heart, and an honest exchange guaranteed.

We had SO much fun doing this class. The staff was so kind and gave us so much insight and knowledge about Moroccan culture. The facilities were clean and the food was fantastic! Would 100% recommend Blue Door to anyone who wants to experience Moroccan culture through cuisine!!

What a wonderful experience with Blue Door in Tangier! We really enjoyed the whole experience, and learned a lot about both Moroccan food and customs. We made the beef and prune tagine, which included bread making and tea. Everything was so delicious. One person in our group has Celiac's disease and Blue Door was very accommodating for her gluten allergy. We are thankful for a great experience and would highly recommend to anyone visiting.

This was the absolute best experience my group had during our entire five day trip to Tangier. The staff was amazing. They were very hospitable, kind, helpful and made us feel at home. The food and tea were incredible, and the staff helps to inform you about all of the customs and traditions of Morocco. I would recommend this excursion to be the first thing you do when visiting Morocco. They offer you many inside tips to help you have the best experience possible while you are in Morocco. I will absolutely be back any time I am in this area again.

Highly, highly recommend!!

My entire family (7 of us) did the Royal Couscous Experience on a Friday afternoon in December at Blue Door Cuisine, and it was delightful!! Honestly it felt less like a cooking class and more like being invited into the home of new friends. We conversed as we prepared and partook of the mint tea & couscous... and it was some of the most natural conversation! I really did not expect that. We shared about our differing cultures & values, about food & about family.
The staff really went above & beyond. From the very moment we entered the space until we said goodbye three hours later, we felt welcomed and taken care of. They provided us with everything we needed to prepare a successful Moroccan meal together. I highly recommend it!!

From the market tour with our amazing guide and cook to the surprising upmarket kitchen and stylish interiors - everything was super impressive. We were on an MSC cruise that stopped in Tangier for the day and didn’t like any of the cruise tours so we booked this. Best decision ever! We met 2 lovely other participants and were just super impressed by the whole experience. I would highly recommend this if visiting Tangier. A wonderful way to experience the city, culture and cuisine.

We participated in the Making Tea and Baking Bread experience. What a wonderfully authentic experience. Maryam was simply superb, she is so charismatic. We loved learning from her, hearing her childhood stories, and seeing a community oven in action. Mohammed was awesome as well, he gave us fantastic recommendations for the spots to see while in Tangier. And the tea!!! Hands down, the best Moroccan tea we had during our time there.
All in all: it is a beautiful, shared community experience that we will treasure for a lifetime.

Last week, I was fortunate enough to experience solo cooking classes at Blue Cuisine. My intention was to learn the fundamentals of Moroccan cooking so I could do it when I returned home. For the better part of 4 immersive days, I learned how to make at least 12 traditional Moroccan dishes - main dishes, salads and breads. It was a wonderful experience!
I went shopping for the ingredients with the staff in the souk marketplace. They told me about all the ingredients I saw there that I was curious about. Blue Cuisine calls the staff their “experience leaders”, but I called them my teachers. They were my teachers in every sense of the word - they explained everything, let me dive in and work with the food, patiently corrected me (especially when making the pastry type items) and taught me so much about their food culture and family culture. This was way more than a cooking demonstration.
The food was amazing! My cooking teachers were all wonderful, warm and kind people. We laughed and hugged and worked together. If you are interested in food and getting to know and spend time with people of a different culture, this is the experience for you!

Doing a cooking class at Blue Door is an absolute must if you visit Tangier. We learned how to make Moroccan tea, bread, and beef tagine with prunes and almonds. We loved learning from Mohamed and Khaoula and really enjoyed spending time with them - they were both so knowledgeable, hospitable, and generous. The whole afternoon was undoubtedly one of our most memorable experiences in Morocco. Thank you to Tim for hosting us and for putting together such a great afternoon.

This was a grand experience in Tangiers. The location is in the inner city (I think it is called Medina), and easily accessible. They greeted us as if we were family and made us feel very comfortable. The food class was extremely well organized and structured perfectly. We both enjoyed the workshop and then the meal, which was served elegantly.
A pure joy, we would highy recommend it.

I have lived in Tangier for 6 years, and I learned so much from this class! I was particularly fascinated by all of the spices for the tea and the considerations that go into making it. We did the 90-minute express class, and it was everything we’d have hoped for. Friendly, warm staff with a passion and expertise for the food and culture of Morocco. Professional, organized, educational, fun, and absolutely delicious. Make sure you show up hungry!
