It was a pleasure to see all these beautiful mosaiques in the walls of this Mausoleum. I was fascinated.

Besides its beautiful architecture, lovely decor and quiet interior, the mausoleum is memorable because in order to reach it you go through a maze of bare, simple, bright, yellow, high-walled, peaceful spaces. To me the outside/inside contrast was deeply satisfying..!

There's a lot to see here, but the stables are quite incredible! At one point they were home to 12,000 horses, unbelievable! It was raining heavily when we visited them but even that didn't detract from how awesome they were! Everything else here is just...More

Just by the old water tank, across the street from the Imperial city, a place that you must see in Meknes!

We spent about an hour and a half wandering around and enjoying the location of the Mausoleum of Mouley Ismail. Its quite a rustic and tranquil place which contrasts with its bloody history.

Beautiful area outside of Fez and the Roman ruins at Volubilis are worth visiting. Sited high on the hills above the area and quite a wine region. Lots of farming and olive trees.

The building is unremarkable from the outside, only the decorative stone gate gives the place away. As soon as you enter, you come across a working fountain, local children were drinking off it during my visit. Beyond that are two featureless courtyards which leads to...More
