An interesting half day tour of the main tourist thoroughfares yet managing to combine two of the main attractions of the city. A great insight into the local traditions and customs of Marrakech. One or two of my students will be returning to the Old Medina and they will definitely book another tour with Hamza.

We were so lucky to have Hamza with us in Marrakech! He was recommended by La Mamounia hotel and met all of our expectations. We walked in the Medina where he answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable, safe but most importantly unconcerned about anything. Calm, gentle, knowledgeable with excellent command of English. We will definitely propose him to our friends visiting Marrakech and will ask for him next time we return.

We had a week in Marrakech. The walking tour with Hamza was fabulous. He showed us places where the tourists don't go. A tiny bakery, we had lunch - eating lamb grilled in an oven underground. Learning about the riads, old Marrakech history and getting answers to questions about islam, local habits an so on.
We are so grateful to Hamza.

Terrible is probably too generous. If you do take this tour ask for Hamsa as all the good reviews we were swayed by are for him. We were able to meet our guide Abdul easily at the Poste in Jemaa El-Fnaa, however he never displayed any identification or asked for our voucher - should this have been our first warning sign? We then confirmed as noted in our booking that one of our group (of two) has a vegetarian diet - well this really threw him into a spin. Abdul knew his way around the souks and the history of the Medina but little about the food history and culture or the food and ingredients - there was more time spent at a Herborist trying to be sold argan oil and massages or at a Berber carpet maker, again trying to be sold a carpet. We may have tasted less than half of what what described in the overview - we had to stop Abdul in the souk to ask about the pastries we were passing and ate lamb at the place next door to the best place in the souks for lamb! Our tagine was at a western food hall and really quite bland.
So disappointing!
We also did another food tour while in Marrakech (both booked in advance, before we'd left home) Flavours of Marrakech: 10 Tastings Private Food Tour which lived up to everything promised even though it had only one not so favourable review.

I organized a custom tour of Marrakech with Hamza.
He took the time to see where I had been so far and found a day filling itinerary of stuff to see which I would have never ever had the chance to explore on my own my way.
We saw a few fantastic monuments and hidden gems in areas of the town which I had not been to before.
Especially the area entering via Puerta de Bab Agnaou towards the Jewish part of town was a great discovery.
Between sights we hopped in taxis or walked.

I saw great architecture and beautiful gardens and traditional city market life.
But in the end, what I enjoyed most was our conversations. Hamza is a great gentleman and fantastic conversation partner with deep knowledge of his town.
Ah, and we had great great food as well. :)

I will definitely give Hamza a ring when I'm back in town.

This was a wonderful day walking around the sights and souk of Marrakech with Hamza. And as a bonus we got to try some wonderful local delicacies . We saw things that we'd never have seen on the main tourist track and had the personal benefit of his years of passionate connection with this wonderful city.

We only had 2 days in Marrakesh with no plans to return in the near future. We decided to hire Hamza for our first day and we're glad we did.Hamza was more than a guide:he made us feel like we've known him for ages and his perfect English allowed him to talk about virtually anything,be it history,religion,culture.....He walked us through the old part avoiding the touristy spots and even invited us to share lunch with him at his favorite roast lamb place.Hamza,we can't thank you enough for making our short stay in your lovely city an unforgettable experience.Thank you.

We arrived in Marrakesh from Boston and were immediately overwhelmed by the vastness of the medina and its many alleyways. Hamza was amazing. Picking us up at our hotel and leading us through the best spots (and also off the beaten path), all the while narrating the history of the city and the culture to us. He made us feel like we had known him for years. He was completely flexible with time and I am confident could navigate the city blindfolded if need be.

Quite simply, Marrakesh would not have been the great experience that it was were it not for Hamza. I would personally recommend him for anyone who is serious about seeing the city and all it has to offer.

I have been bringing groups from the US to Marrakesh for a couple of years and attribute the ease of my organization and the success of my retreats to the amazing Hamza. Not only does he know Marrakech inside and out - he understands how to translate the beauty, complexity and culture to those experiencing it for the first time. He gracefully and capably weaves the historic and cultural elements of the medina with culinary delights and endless souks. Each of my retreat participants have counted our time with Hamza as one of the highlights of their trip. I truly can't imagine working with anyone else.

Hamza was recommended by my hotel Peacock Pavilions, and I'm so thrilled to have met him. I travelled to Marrakech by myself and was pretty nervous about sightseeting alone. Hamza customized our 3 hours together exactly according to what I wanted to see -- historical monuments, the medina, the souk, secret spots, some culture, food and a little shopping. His knowledge was extensive, and he even negotiated with the shop owners for me. It was the perfect introduction to Marrakech -- I learned so much. Thank you Hamza!
