Nice building and good calligrapher inside but not much in way of content.

We loved the inside for decor and size, and a wander through the steam rooms. Some interesting Berber bits and prices, but truly awful art on the walls. Bought some nice... read more

We loved the inside for decor and size, and a wander through the steam rooms. Some interesting Berber bits and prices, but truly awful art on the walls. Bought some nice personalised calligraphy inside!

The building is impressive, and typically Morrocan; huge wooden doors, beautiful mosaic floor and ornate ceiling. But the museum and it's collection is in desperate need of some serious TLC. Ceramic plates, ornate knives, leatherwork; all covered in dust and grime. Information in arabic or french only. 50DH is more than this tired old museum in the Medina deserves.

Quiet and tranquil in the midst of the Medina, the museum houses many artefacts and historical items from Marrakech - currently hosting an art exhibition, it is zoned into areas that you can wander through at your own pace, although some visitors appeared to have their own guide giving them detailed information about the exhibits. Worth a look, if only... More

For a museum to bear the name of its city, you might expect a wide range of historical and cultural artefacts, but in truth, the most impressive aspect of this museum is the building itself. Once inside, the eye is inevitably drawn to the gigantic brass lamp that dominates the main space. Around the central atrium, there are a number... More

We got a recommendation and went there. Might be that we were a bit spoiled by all the other great things we have seen in Marrakech, but we expected something more interesting and were disappointed.

The architecture of the place is stunning and makes the visit worth your while, much more than the actual collection. But for what it is, it is way to expensive, as the collection is really small.

A simple but rich place showing what culture this place has. Can be visited in an hour or so. Combines architecture and exhibits.

I found this museum very boring. I speak French so could understand all the signs but you'll have no chance of understanding anything if you don't. The building itself is quite impressive but the artefacts are few and far between and really not worth the entrance fee.

You can find out interesting stuff about Marrakech history, traditions and customs. I would not say this museum appeals to just about every tourist. It is rather suitable to people with a keen interest in the north-African history and the Moroccan history in particular.
