“Don’t expect too much of the Royal Palace and the Saadian Tombs”

About
Although you are not allowed to go inside the palace, it is still interesting to see from the outside from an architectural and historical standpoint. Plus, you’ll get a breather from the hustle and bustle of the center of town.

The palace is basically empty, as all furnitures were taken away after the royals left the building. Just a nice garden is worth seeing. As for the Saadian Tombs, there’s no information in English, and nothing really impressive if you have been to similar places...More

There aren't that many attractions in Marrakesh so during the busy season they all get very crowded, especially with tour groups. We went in right as they opened and kept ahead of soon-to-follow tour groups. This enabled us to get great pictures of all of...More

Like many places in Morroco, the palace is in construction, so you won't see anything worth the 10dh you pay to get in. But it will certainly be worth it! They really are building something great. Don't pay the extra 10dh to see the big...More

We saw the place on the way to the Atlas Mountains, unfortunately you can only see walls and palm trees which are outside. The place is not open to tourists or anyone local to visit.

We saw the palace on the way in to Marrakech and again on our way out. As most comments have indicated, there are only walls and a well guarded gate---the palace itself is well hidden behind the walls and not accessible to tourists. This was...More

You can't see the inside, only the walls and it's absolutely huge. You can get a pretty decent idea of the whole palace just by driving by. No need to stop.
