We rented a caleche for 2 hours from the medina area to take us through La Palmeraie, to some of the galleries in Gueliz and then to Jardin Majorelle - all for $30 US. The caleche ride through La Palermaie was a wonderful way to start the morning. We saw shepherds, peaks of some beautiful villas, the King's mother's palace... More

It's a beautiful area, lots of Palm trees and camels. You can go camel rides and ride quad bikes here too. Lots of lovely hotels/resorts there that you can pay to use the pool (the best one is the Maurano - it's cheap too). The King of Morocco's mother also apparently lives there and some celebs like to stay in... More

We saw lots of posters around to book camel rides and also it was possible to book via our Riad. However as my friend had visited Marrakech twice before we just jumped in a taxi asking to go to the palmeraie for a camel ride. We agreed 100 Dirham one way. On the drive of about 20 mins our friendly... More

we went on a camel ride at sunset, all those movies you see with sun dunes and sun sets with a camel or two in the distance was what we experienced totally recommend

We stayed at the El Dorador. It is about 20-30 mins in a coach from the centre of Marrakech. We liked it because it was far from the hussle and bussel. It depends what you are looking for from your stay. Nothing to do in this area really other then what the hotels offer.

An area of palms scattered amidst building sites and expensive houses. There are various groups of camels around, so you could easily turn up on your own and get a ride around, apparently 100 DM per hour is the normal amount to pay. Few quad bikes dotted around and people on bike tours. Not really pretty, but convenient for a... More

Our hotel wanted to charge us €20 pp for a family of four, after discount. However after enquiring locally, I found it much cheaper for 100 Dh. (€9) for the same package 45 minutes rides. We had been kitted and the camel man tied all four camel so they travel in the same direction and he led them by foot... More

the Palmeraie is only a short drive outside of the city and provides a little space and peace and quiet. We visited earlier this year and my daughter and i went horse riding. I would recommend gettign somewhere recommended by your hotel or Riad. could be so much nice if there wasnt so much litter.

Hard to describe this place.. We went for camel rides with our taxi driver who knew a good place to go. The guide was awesome and gave us traditional clothes to wear. We trekked around the area which is just waste land ready for property developers to come in and build on. You'd only go there if you don't have... More

I am awaiting a hip replacement and have mobility issues. I could not go on a desert tour but my riad manager (Mahjoub at Riad Lakhdar) took me here by car. An area has been set up to protect the palm trees. They are planted just like an oasis in the desert. There are bedouins there with camels and you... More
