We had a great trip with Lahcen in the High Atlas Mountains. Upon meeting us he was able to refine and customize our trip to one more suitable to our ability! In the end we got much better views and a more rewarding trip.
Lahcen is from the high Atlas mountains he took us down fun paths that were nostalgic to him as a young boy. He introduced us to wonderful families and incredible cooking. After a long hard day, he convinced the Hammam to stay open for us and stretch and clean our tired bodies.
We are so grateful to Lahcen and would recommend him to anyone looking to visit Morocco!

My daughter and I were planning a trip to Morocco and wanted part of the trip to be guided. Trish at Bike HIke helped me set up the perfect itinerary! Saaid pikced us up at our Riad in Marrakesh, and off we went towards the Sahara! We drove and biked through the High Atlas mountains. Aftera lunch stop at Telouet where we toured the crumbling ruins, we continued on, cycling thorough the Ounila Valley arriving right at the most beautiful kasbah, Ksar Ighnda, near the Ait Benhaddoh, where we enjoyed our overnight stay. The accommodations were fabulous, and we enjoyed the pool, the hamman, and a great buffet dinner and breakfast. WE continued on the next day, driving and cycling, seeing the Hollywood of Morocco, a Salt Mine, fossils, and Todra gorge where we enjoyed a great lunch by the river. Saaid was so knowledgeable and shared so much information with us. We finished the day with a camel trek into the Sahara to our camp, Jaimas Madu. Everything about the camp was magical! The tented accommodations were luxurious, the food was delicious, the camp fire circle with drumming at night was the perfect way to end the day. We got up in the night to witness to beauty of the desert lit up by the nearly full moon. Rising before dawn we got to see the sun rise over the sand, truly spectacular!! We had the day to explore and relax, and decided to go quad biking in the dunes-- so much fun. Saaid safely drove us to the Riad Madu to relax by the pool for some time in the afternoon. We hiked to the largest dune and on the way back to camp, sat down in the sand to enjoy the setting sun. A delicious dinner was followed by a campfire, bed, and rising again to see the moon and some stars! Our 4th day began with some more biking in Draa Valley, followed by a visit to a women's carpet weaving co-op, and an overnight at a guest house al Houssoun. Our final day with Saaid was a beautiful drive to Agadir, a modern coastal city. Such a contrast to some of the villages we had been through! We visited an Argan Co-op and biked along the coast, and ended out time with Saaid in Essoaiura where we were going to continue on our own, Saaid helped show us around and get us oriented in this charming town before bidding us goodbye. I have only the highest praise for his as a guide and for Trish and Meghan and all of the staff at Bike HIke for setting up this customized itinerary.

With a group of friends, we enjoyed a perfectly organized Bike Tour in the High Atlas with an excellent guide, following car support and delicious food in the wilderness.
Lahcen adapted the tour perfectly to our skills and added (as wished) a lot of nice single tracks. The entire team was always very caring and friendly.
The riads and hotels selected were clean and offered the necessary level of comfort after a long day on the bikes.
We'll definitely be back next year. Thank you all very much and see you soon.

I am a solo traveler and was keen on mountain biking over the Atlas Mountains, all the ways to Sahara. Thus I came into contact with Bike Adventures in Morocco and Lanchen. Right from the start the correspondence and communication with Lanchen was easy and prompt.
I'm not interested in fast speed or technical paths. For me, cycling is a way to see the remote hinterland that the ordinary tourists don´t reach.
I ended up with a 16-day trip (June 2016) with Lanchen and his crew; chef Muhammed and driver Omar.
Lanchen had chosen an interesting route, it was varied and some parts challenging - steep climbs, high altitudes and heat. Serpentine roads over the mountain passes, wild downhills towards the Sahara. Flat trails and the sand dunes in Sahara. I'm in my sixties, so I couldn’t to keep Lanchen´s speed up with. Whatever… I took my own rhythm and tempo way behind him. This bike tour was one of the best I've ever done. In addition to beautiful landscapes, I enjoyed very much the peaceful and simple accommodation during the trip. Mohamed made delicious home-cooked food, I especially liked the omelet á la Mohamed. It has been said that the most dangerous thing in Morocco is the traffic. Omar is a careful driver and cheerful personality, I felt completely safe in his car. On the last days of the trip I had a 3-day hike. Lanchen led me to Tubkal, the highest peak of the Atlas Mountains.
After everything I experienced, the most memorable moment was the visit to the mountain village hamam - a traditional local spa.
If you are planning a cycling or hiking trip in Morocco, Bike Adventures in Morocco is a good option.

We booked a day hike from our hotel, Kasbah Tamadot. Our guide was Lahcen, the owner of Bike Adventures. We walked through a small village that I doubt many tourists get to experience, on paths traveled mostly by mules and locals, and into the mountains. It was a wonderful day, and Lahcen was an amazing guide. His pace was based on us. His knowledge of the land was great since he grew up hiking that area. We had some cool surprises, like a bunch of 2 day old goats, the soccer field at 9,000 feet, a little girl tending to her cow in the middle of nowhere, friends of his stopping to join us, etc. It was an awesome day hike in the Atlas Mountains. I would recommend this guide with great confidence.

Had a great day of mountain biking with Lahcen as our guide. We went on a circular route from Imlil which took us through Berber villages and some tricky single track. The start of the ride is not for the faint-hearted as it was a continuous 600m climb! But the downhill after that made it all worth it.

I'm glad we had Lahcen as a guide as it would have been difficult to navigate such an interesting route without him. The lunch provided was huge.

We were provided with excellent full suspension Cannondale bikes (plus any other safety gear you need).

We did the DAY TRIP FROM OUKAIMDEN TO KIK PLATEAU with Lahcen and it was truly fabulous. He and a driver collected us from near our riad in Marrakech and we drove straight out to Oukaimden.

The bikes we had we Cannondale Rush and in excellent condition.

Lahcen is very knowledgeable about the area and the communities so provides lots of information.

The descent from the ski area to Asni is amazing but you have to take it quite easy as it’s very loose and gravelly/dusty so it’s really easy to wash out...we both did a couple of times but nothing more than a few scrapes. Lahcen encourages you to take your time and doesn’t put you under any time pressure.

Our lunch was amazing. We stopped in a shaded wood and the driver was already there and had prepared a feast!! Meatballs in a tagine along with rice, salad and bread followed by fresh fruit.

The lunch seemed a bit extravagant but we felt we earned it when after lunch we had the climb from the valley up to the Kik plateau. I thinks it about 3km and it’s hot and relentless.

Once upon on the plateau the views are very different from the Toubkal views. It’s limestone and quite spectacular in a different way. Once on the plateau I thought it would be pretty level but there’s still a fair few climbs to get your teeth in to. The website says the day has 560m ascent. My Garmin clocked 730m and is generally pretty accurate.

There were a few technical bits which were a little tricky for me. Lahcen takes you on some single track which was so narrow and rocky it was a bit too much for me. Brian who cycled with me, loved it so I guess it depends on your ability level.

All in all, we were in the saddle nearly 6hrs. I am sure other people would be quicker than us but by the time you add in lunch and the nearly 2hr drive out and 1hr drive back, plan on it being a reasonably long day.

We didn’t get back to Marrakech til 7.30pm. The guys didn’t make us feel rushed and just wanted us to have a great day. We certainly did and I would recommend it to anyone wanting an active days cycling to see Morocco from a different view.

Lachen met up with us mid-morning at Kasbah Tamadot (the hotel/resort just south of Asni) and took us on a terrific 4.5 hour hike up to a fantastic panoramic viewpoint about 1,500 feet above the road through the valley, plus a 45-minute visit to a nearby Berber village. He is thoroughly knowledgeable about the High Atlas Mountains (certified by the Moroccan government as a guide) and told us many stories and facts about life in his village (Imlil, further up the High Atlas Mountains) as well as his experiences as a muleteer (starting at age 14), trekking chef and now as a guide. He's extremely professional, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful (on the steep uphill/downhill sections of the trail). One of the best outdoor guides we've ever had the pleasure of being guided by on 7 continents.

I was able to travel to Marrakesh and the Atlas in October of 2016.
This was my second trip with Lahcen and it was just as fantastic as the first.”

Lahcen knows everything about arranging a great trip in Morocco, especially the Atlas Mountains. I prefer to hike, and Lahcen can make all the arrangements so that I do not have to carry very much. On this trip we specifically made more time for personal exploration of people and places of particular interest to me. The great thing about Lahcen is his ability to listen and put together just the right trip for your desires. We had a wonderful time and even had the opportunity to meet Lahcen's family. I give Bike Adventures in Morocco my highest recomendation.

Based on the excellent comments on tripadvisor, we contacted Lahcen to do 2 private biking day trips in the Atlas region for my wife & I. Lahcen was fast to respond and tailored the tours to our needs & abilities. Nothing was too much trouble – at the end of the first day, we even agreed to change the itinerary for the 2nd day as it was extremely hot that week (went higher up to Imlil, which was cooler and we could do a bit more down hill biking).

All was very well organized:
- Pick up by Omar by a comfortable 4x4. The car also serves as back-up in case you would need to rest at any point in the tour.
- The MTBs were of very good quality and well maintained. Plenty of water was foreseen.
- Lahcen as bike guide being extremely patient, helpful and flexible. Plenty of time to stop for water & pictures.
- Mohammed preparing delicious lunches for us at the river side.

We’ll definitely be using them again next time, and can recommend them to anyone. Thanks Lahcen, Mohammed & Omar for making it a few great days for us!
