Overview

Day Trips from Marrakech to a number of locations in the Atlas Mountains and Morocco. They will pick you up from your accommodation in the morning and then return you there in the afternoon or the evening.

A Day out in the Moroccan countryside could involve you spending time with the local Berbers in their villages, joining in with their daily activities or their festivals, or it could take you further out into the wild, into the forests and the peaks; the habitats of the Barbary Stag and the Northern Bald Ibis. You will have access to beautifully made Berber cuisine, for example breads, soups and couscous and you will be shown around safely by local, well qualified and experienced guides. A day excursion is a wonderful way to see lives lived out in the ancient landscapes of the Northern African territories.

I had the pleasure of meeting Driss, our tour guide or a hike through the base of the beautiful Atlas mountains. He gave us a lot of background on the Arabic and berber people all the while being a true gentleman and helping us walk up the paths etc we went to a beautiful place for tea halfway through and then went to Driss's own home for a beautiful authentic Moroccan lunch made by his wife and sister-in-law. It truly was an experience I will not forget I would highly recommend it to anyone. I'm already planning to go back next year to avail of another walk.

Driss was a fantastic, patient, and clear communicator and guide. We were a fairly large group and he made sure we all enjoyed our walking trip in the Imlil hills very much. We ate a generous lunch at his family home and met his cute daughters and nieces. It really was a wonderful day out.

We enjoyed being guided on walks by both Driss and Hassan. First a 3 hour hike to get our bearings (and lungs acclimatised) on our arrival which we us up a path that we'd never have found. Great views and sense of achievement! After our own adventure we then went on a 6 hour hike with Hassan over the mountain pass into the neighbouring valley, picnic and mint tea, then return. Nearly 20km and 1100m climbing. Always felt safe and cared for with conversation (when our lungs allowed us...) Thanks

We had the most amazing day walking in the mountains with Driss. A real highlight of our trip - hospitality was great at lunchtime with a wonderful spread in a traditional home with a view of the Atlas Mountains and traditional mint tea in one of the villages. Also great local knowledge about the region and people. Highly recommend.
