Marrakech and Fes are the major cities everyone visiting Morocco can’t miss. Combining the Sahara desert with Fes and Marrakech will make your Morocco desert tour as rich as it can be. For that reason, and with increasing inquiries, we decided to suggest a Marrakech to Fes desert trip for you to take advantage of and combine the Sahara desert with the two amazing cities of Marrakech and Fes.

Tour highlights

– Cross the High Atlas Mountains driving past one Berber village after another

– Visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou considered a world heritage site by the UNESCO

– Visit Ouarzazate and its Kasbah Ait Ben-Haddou

– Drive along the Valley of the roses & the road of 1001 Kasbahs

– Walk in Todra oasis to Todra Gorges & visit a Berber village

– Ride a camel in Erg Chebbi

– Spend the night under the stars at your Sahara desert camp

– Drive along Ziz Valley and cross the Middle Atlas Mountains with its cedar forests to Fes

For starters I would like to note that this attraction seems to have two names. Tripadvisor calls it Jardin Bio Aromatique Nectarome but signs at the site refer to it as Jardin Bio Aromatique Ourika. Subsequent internet research along with my camera's GPS reveal that both are located at the same geographic site and are presumably different names for the same thing. This attraction was our lunch (and last) stop on our bus tour of the Ourika Valley. We disembarked the bus on a side street and walked about 10 min down a alley to the garden. As a side note, on the left (west) side of the alley is the Mosque ElSouiQa. There is a stork's nest on top of its minaret. When we visited the stork was in residence. :) The garden has a large number of beds of aromatic plants, mostly herbs, but also bushes and trees. Our guide explained the uses of the plants in culinary, cosmetic, medicinal, and alcoholic preparations. The smells were quite intoxicating. At times I felt like we were in a Simon&Garfunkel song - I saw parsley, rosemary, and thyme (however no sage :) After the tour we were served lunch consisting of a variety of dishes. I recommend tasting each of them. I found some quite delicious, others I chose not to go back for seconds. All in all it was a delightful end to a delightful tour of the Ourika Valley

These gardens have a lovely, natural, not too contrived feel. Enjoyed the foot bath whilst listening to birds singing and water features gurgling in background. Chicken tagine served afterwards was really delicious. Not easy to find - my taxi from Marrakech cost 150 dirhams - views as you come into Tnine Ourika are fabulous. Very kind staff arranged for me to go by motorbike back to bus-stop and bus back to Marrakech only 7.50 dirhams would have been quite a long walk

The products made by Nectarome are of excellent quality Argan Oils. They have a wide variety from those for face/body and for cuisine. Marrakech and Agadir are the regions that are known for the product and it can be found everywhere but you are not guaranteed the best quality. Argan coops are also excellent places to find authentic products like the store Planet Product in Agadir.

On our Moroccan tour while in the Ourika Valley, this visit to Jardin Bio-aromantique d' Ourika was included in our itinerary. First, we had a tour of their organic gardens which were lovely. The garden focuses on natural herbs, and they prepare a wonderful lunch using fresh vegetables and herbs from their garden. While they are also cooking the food outdoors barbecuing healthy selections, we were treated to a professional herbal foot bath which was very nice and relaxing. Lunch was served in a beautiful setting outside under a gazebo. The food was delicious and everything was really nice. Everyone enjoyed a very special day, we felt pampered and would highly recommend this wonderful experience.

Lunch was good and healthy amidst some very beautiful gardens. I especially enjoyed the footbath which was unique to any other gardens I've visited. I liked their bath salts.
