Agafay Sunset tour

f you have just 1 day in Marrakesh don’t lose the opportunity to live a desert ambient for few ours.

Our afternoon trip drives us to the west of Marrakesh , the route is shaded by lush vegetation, olive and orange orchards past the occasional village Off Ait Imour then to off road, the scenery is completely different – a stone desert, barren light brown plateaux.

Is not very known even by the locals in Marrakesh ,but some local villages around call it Agafay desert and for good reason: this might as well be the Sahara as the colors and the feeling of solitude are the same. The land seems to stretch out forever as the impression of being completely disconnected from civilization takes shape, but is not a real desert with sand dunes,on this special trip we offer as well a camel ride and a break of tea in a wild place (nomad method made ) watching the sunset ,after the sunset we drive back to Marrakesh .

Larbi our tour guide was excellent, very helpful and kept us entertained through out our experience. The tour itself was very pretty and the camel ride in the evening was a lovely way to top off the evening. We then settled into some hot tea and honey which was delicious before heading back. Want to day thank you once again to Larbi!!

Amazing trip (customized to fit our needs with children of 5 and 7) that let us discover the Atlas mountains, the beautiful valleys, the impressive Kasbah, and the culture and traditions of the Berber people. Our guide Ismail was very thoughtful and professional, he had chosen very nice places to bring us with excellent food everywhere and with such warm, nice people to greet us. We had a really unforgettable time during this trip!

We had a 4 day trip - Marrakesh to Merzouga and back - with several stops on the way. We discovered amazing landscapes that would worth discovering in more than just 4 days, so if you can, stay longer. We had very good communication with Said who responded quickly to our questions and gave detailed information on our concerns. Our driver, Ismail, is much more than a driver, he shared with us many interesting aspects of the Moroccan culture. He is a very cultivated person, we highly recommend him.

This tour was incredible. Our guide Said put us at ease the moment we got into the car. He was very kind and informative. We drove out into the desert and got away from the city where it was quiet and peaceful. The camel ride was a once in a lifetime experience and so much fun, and watching the sunset behind the desert hills was beautiful. We did several tours before this in the city, but this one was our favorite. Anyone coming to Morocco should do this.

Said helped us plan our ideal trip. We only had 4 days, and wanted to see as much as we could. Hicham (who I highly recommend) picked us up from the Marrakech airport. We drove through the Atlas Mountains, saw numerous Kasbahs, and “glamped” in the Sahara for a night. Hicham was highly accommodating, and even changed our plans slightly so that my husband and I could go for a run in one of the villages (we’re training for a marathon, so this was important to us). A highlight was visiting his childhood home, and having tea with his mother and brother. All of the Riads were amazing, and the food delicious. We also greatly enjoyed observing people work together in the co-ops, making things (entirely by hand) from pottery, to metal lanterns, and Argan oils and soaps. Our last day was in Marrakech, and Aziz showed us parts of the city that we never would have found alone. We walked through the “local” areas of the souks, and visited the city tannery. I couldn’t recommend Hicham, Aziz, or Said more. They will work with you to make sure you have exactly the trip and experiences you’re looking for!
