It is really busy, hot , dusty, crowded, smelly, noisy and there is an assault on every sense...get past this and you will enjoy and see and participate in an aspect of what makes this place a UNESCO world heritage site. Be careful to haggle...More

Be. Prepared. To haggle. Absolute mayhem. I would advise not buying anything if you haven't seen it somewhere else first just to get an idea of price. Usually you can halve the initial price they give you, so be persistent! Also unless you want to...More

Really enjoyed going for long walks in the medina. Not for the faint hearted but for the adventurers out there. Really cool things to buy too. Loved it. Has to be done at least once.

We visited the medina in the morning and spent a couple of hours visiting different shops. There is a spice shop where they give talks on the different spices and medicinal herbs. Well worth a visit. Don't be in a hurry to buy as there...More

A really interesting place and really worth a visit. The locals do see you as gullible and rich so whatever price they offer you for something it is normally worth about 1/4 of that. I struggled with the treatment of animals though so do be...More

The market offers mostly low quality things in my opinion. However, you can find good food, rugs, fruits, etc. Honestly, I don't recommend spending too much money there. The market is best for hanging out for a few hours... More

I avoided eating at the smaller food stalls in the Media and ate at the various restaurants in the area. I enjoyed the food and when I traveled with my tour group we had no problems.
