An exciting sensual awakening! Let your eyes feast on the vibrant colours, the exotic sounds fill your ears and the spices sting your nose. Even better if you visit after dark - The place comes alive!

I loved Marrakech! However, I was not fond of the large tourist market at all! I have many friends that recommended it and had a great time there, but we encountered a very handsy shop owner that made me VERY uncomfortable. We were traveling without...More

You really do have to read other reviews & take them with a pinch of salt. I traveled with my partner & we absolutely loved it. Our riad was about a 3 minute walk from the souks & we visited them nearly every day. At...More

It is very different as men bother you all the time wanting you to buy and also will send you in wrong direction so be careful . Did not want to stop and buy because of all the unwanted attention

Having spent some time in the Fes medina, I have to say the Marrakech medina and the souks compare unfavourably with their Fes counterparts. The main thing is the presence of motor cycles and scooters zooming up and down the narrow laneways (so you have...More

I love the souks wherever I go but I am useless at bartering. This souk is massive and it's so easy to get lost. Great experience though!

The souk has become one big shopping center where every shop is selling the same; old traditions have disappeared. Example: The souk of the wool colouring has completely disappeared and has been replaced by industrial painted fabrics. Bah. It used to be so colourful.

Silly question, but is this where i can find dejellaba's? I am planning to go for about a week but don't want to pack heavily being that I would like to buy some lovely dejellaba's from Morocco before i leave and other souvenirs.

Hi, yes you will find lots of djellabas in the souks and in shops around Marrakesh. Ranging from cheap and cheerful ones and some much more elaborate expensive ones.
Does anyone know until what time we can still find the souks open?
