A wonderful experience , colour, characters, and fun. You need a map, instinct , and a sense of humour.

Sights, sounds, and smells all make this old marketplace much the same as it was 500 years ago. You can find amazing crafts and bargains here, but it is easy to get lost in the narrow, winding corridors. Ask your Riad for a map and rely on landmarks on the corners. The best parts are the leather, metal, lamp, and... More

You will find the same products being sold all over the souk repeatedly. Don't make it a day trip at the souk. Choose what you want, get prices from a few sellers and negotiate what you think is really worth it.

If you have never been to the Marrakech Souk then i would add it to you bucket list. Prior to entering the Souk we read a review on bruisedpassports.com, which suggested that you should sit down in a cafe on the outskirts of the Souk to enjoy a mint tea and gather yourself prior to entering the amazing world off... From the moment you enter there will be a million and one stall holders vying for your attention and your money. For sure there are some exceptional bargains to be had but you will need to haggle over everything. Don't expect to get back to the point you started from as the place is an entire maze. If you ask... More

The souks are great fun and not to be missed. I was a bit worried having read some negative reviews, but my fears were unfounded. There are some basic rules you have to remember - basically you don't need any of what they are selling, they start at an exorbitantly high price and your response has to be equally low... More

We thoroughly enjoyed walking about the little alleys of the Souk, You never know where the little streets lead to. This was magical for us. One can find wonderful souvenirs, excellent Bio shops selling Argan Oil and its bi-products. Handbags, Moroccan leather footwear and pottery. Very enjoyable.

We had read some of the vendors were aggressive in terms of their sales pitches but this was not our experience. We found the majority to be respectful and persuasive . Most allowed photographs and were very accomodating . We bought fake Beats headphones for $ 80 dirham and saw the exact one selling for $ 50 in the next... More

The prize possessions are inside the Souks. The stall owners were happy to show us how they made their items. There is one shop in particular, a wedding clothes shop that also sells pillows, across from a all natural remedies place. Both shops are amazing, if i can find out their names i will be sure to tell you. Watch... More

For a few dirhams, it is interesting to see where the felt is made and the wool dyed. Tradition still prevails, but some shops are starting to put on permanent doors, which, I imagine in 10 years time will take away from the 'market feel'. Not for the faint hearted if you are trying to buy something.
