Well... just go and get lost across all those streets full of different smells, vibrant colors and nice people. Its a wonderful place to meet the Moroccan people and culture and you can always buy some nice gifts.

The souk is worth visiting for two reasons, to see the spectacle and to buy things. I fell firmly into the first category so I would recommend visiting early in morning at around 1000 or late in the evening when the day is cooler. It is good spectacle but repetitive and crowded, there is no where to sit down either... More

We went in evening with my partner and 10 men forced themselves against me and groped by bum. I was covered up entirely. Also snake charmers and monkey men forced monkeys at you. Better during the day

It is a sure bet you will get lost and just as sure someone will recognize that fact and begin to "assist" you to find your way. This is all good ss long as realize that we we likely lead you to one or more interesting things to see and perhaps buy along the way and of course will expect... More

We were taken here twice, once by our carriage driver and once by a chap who approached us on the street, he did not want any money, but he took us to his brothers shop lol

Great place to be, expect to be approached more than often by people trying to "help" you and to claim some money afetward, they may be quite insistant especially as the know you'll get lost in the Medina and you'll look for your way back. May make you feel uncomfortable but no danger here. Look for "Marrakech Tourist Scam" before... More

I very much enjoyed my walk through the Marrakesh souk. Although it could never compare with the Fez souk, it was nevertheless well worth a visit and contained all the types of stalls that one expects in a Moroccan market. If you look hard you'll find the Museum of Photography here and that truly is fabulous. There are also food... More

I have been to markets all over the developing world and this one has all the familiar characteristics. The crowds, the endless shops selling all kinds of things from crap to real treasures. I think you have to see it if you're in Marrakech. You see monkeys, snakes, traditional items, spices, and just a mass of people that is beautiful... More
