About
After the bustle of the souks the best way to enjoy the place and a time of rest and relaxation is to simply collapse on a poufs or bench covered with printed tarpaulin Spirit 70 designed by Hassan Hajjaj , enjoy drinking a pot of green tea with mint or a natural organic juice ahead, flipping one of the many books available to customers in the patio, the lounge or on the terrace.

THis is such a great find. Actually even finding it was fun. It’s just past the entrance to Namad bar by place de espice. So go past their entrance, around to the left, around to the right, down a bit then an alley on the right. It’s on the left. Best collection of cool funky stuff in Marrakech. This guys such a funky artist. Spend some money here. I was too poor but I think everyone else should. One of my favourite finds after 5 weeks in Marrakech. Loved it x

I knew his job on industrial zone but I discovered his riad today
Not far from the main tourist mics attraction but far enough to be located inside the real Medina part
This road is dedicated to Hassan creations and way of life
Super break place

It took us 40 minutes to find this place. And when we got there, there were literally not much in terms of variety. Stay away from this place.

Having lived in Marrakech for over ten years, there are not many things that I have left undiscovered or experienced. However, I recently came across one such place.

Riad Yima, owned by artist Hasan Hajjaj, is situated within the Medina, in the south of the souk. Off the beaten track, it is certainly worth searching out! This Riad is not only a boutique and tea room, it is an art gallery that inspires an eco lifestyle.

There is a boutique where you can purchase clothing & fashion items, as well as furniture and interior accessories made from recycled materials. A riot of colour with strong African as well as Moroccan influences, you cannot help but feel uplifted in this environment. What better way to raise your spirits than by wearing some African print babouches or a tote made from re-cycled flour bags?!

An artist in his own right, Hassan Hajjaj was accepted to exhibit at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition this year. How fortunate are we to have him in Marrakech!

I suggest that you take tea whilst there, to give yourself time to mull over your purchases!

It's not a regular riad but small pop-art gallery created by one of the most important Moroccan artists, Marrakech based - Hassan Hajjaj

The boutique courtyard is full of recycled items designed by Hajjaj. He is redifying pop symbols in the context of Moroccan urban culture. He is also using traditional daily necessities changing it in art works.

During my last stay in Marrakech I paid a visit to his home and showroom in medina of Marrakech. We were welcomed with delicious atay and chebakia. I also bought CousCous bag which is one of my favorites accessorize ever.

Worth to visit - if you are lucky :)

I had read reviews about this place and the photographer Hassan Hajjaj and wanted to stop by. It was well worth it. The gallery itself is small but packed full of may interesting things. I mentioned having read about Hajjaj, so someone took us to meet him. He was setting up a new boutique nearby. He was charming and explained the idea for his boutique. Both are worth checking out - very different from most things you'll see in the medina.

This place is a little out of the way and not the easiest to find but, worth the visit, especially if you are a lover of contemporary art.

The cutest little hidden spot in Marrakech - all sorts of pictures and things to look at! Off the beaten path and better to have a guide take you there so you don't get lost! Grab a cup of tea and enjoy a break with friends!
