My boyfriend and I had a fabulous 15 day private tour with Camel Safaries in Morocco. We started our trip in Casablanca, then headed north to Rabat and Chefchaouen, then went southeast thru Fes and Meknes, headed further to the desert near Rissani/Merzouga. From there we headed west through the Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, mountains in lmlil, to Essaouria on the coast and finished the tour in Marrakech. We covered a lot of ground but feel we were really able to see a lot of the country, which has such varied and beautiful landscapes. Camel Safaries arranged great local guides in each city for us as well, so we got to learn a lot rather than just snapping a bunch of photos as we journeyed through.

Some highlights of the tour were beautiful blue Chefchaouen, exploring the gorgeous Saharan sand dunes by ATV and camel, picnic lunch in the mountains, & charming seaside Essaouria. And last but not least, our wonderful trip guide and driver, Mohamed, whose attention to detail and care made the trip. He drove us all over Morocco and always made sure we were safe, happy, well fed, and taken care of. Not only that, but he personally welcomed us to his home for a lovely lunch and introduced us to his family, which was very special.

We went in October and this was a great time of year to go, still warm and at times hot, but very comfortable and there were almost no bugs the entire time.

We chose the mid range/luxury accommodation option and were very pleased with all of the riads, dars, hotels and even an adorably cozy mountain cabin we stayed in. The riads and dars were really stunning, and every room we had was well appointed. Service was always prompt and friendly.

Special thanks to Ali at Camel Safaries for arranging a wonderful trip for us and to Mohamed for taking such great care of us over our +2 weeks in Morocco. Should we be lucky enough to come back, we will be going with Camel Safaries again.

Camel Safaries is the best! I have been on two trips with Camel Safaries (2008 and 2021) and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Both times Ali planned a custom trip for our group based on the time we had and the things we wanted to see and do and it was perfect! Everything was so epic that it’s hard to choose highlights, but you must ride camels into one of the desert camps and spend a night playing drums under the stars of the Sahara. I mean wow, that is something you will never forget. I learned a ton chatting with Khalid, our guide and driver and new friend, who was so kind and thoughtful and accommodating of everyone’s needs along the way. We got to see parts of Morocco we never would have found on our own, off the beaten path where tourists usually travel, all while being driven around by the nicest guy ever in a safe and comfortable vehicle. Also, the accommodations and meals booked by Camel Safaries were perfect, elegant and traditional. The whole trip was really amazing. If we’d tried to book the same trip on our own we would have spent twice as much and missed most of the best stuff! Many thanks to Camel Safaries and Ali and Khalid. We are already planning our next trip!

This post is overdue as it is now top of mind. We are so excited and looking forward to returning. We did a 12 day tour of Morocco with Camel Safaries and can highly, recommend their tours. We are now planning a return trip to the beautiful country to explore areas we didn't have enough time to explore such as Mount Toubkal/Imlil.

We asked for an ambitious schedule as had limited time available on this trip. Our route included Casablanca, Fes, Chefchaouen, Merzouga/Sahara Desert, Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, Agadir, and Marrakech. Our driver, Hassan and guide, Mohammed were absolutely terrific. Both patient and kind, and offered their intimate knowledge of local areas to visit which made the trip even more spectacular. All our accommodations that we stayed had unique, Moroccan character and were mainly Riads. The food was delicious and we were fortunate to meet local families, where we had lunch and tea at their homes. We are so thankful we found Camel Safaries. What a great experience!

My cousin had recommended this company after doing a desert tour with them last fall. So I decided to book with them as well. I was not disappointed! I booked a private 3 day two night desert tour which started in Fes and ended in Marrakech. I was so pleased that there was an option to do it this way as it fit perfectly into our itinerary. Our driver was Mohammed. He was the kindest and most courteous guide you could hope for. He was always on time and always professional. The accommodations in the desert camp went BEYOND our expectations! We chose the luxury option because I do not like to camp but I ABSOLUTELY loved our room in the tent. The staff at the camp were also amazing. The dinner was fantastic and the whole desert experience was unforgettable. A once in a lifetime opportunity not to be missed. The accommodations for our second night in the valley were also amazing. I cannot say a single negative thing about this experience. We will Miss Morocco and we will miss Mohammed! Thank you Ali and Camel Safaries for memories that will last a lifetime!

I have only great things to say about our private tour of Morocco organized for us by Camel Safari. They were prompt, great communicators and the cost was very reasonable. We were met at the airport in Casablanca by our driver and tour guide. They were personable and helpful every step of the way. We had an air conditioned van spirit us off to the major cities of Rabat, Fes, Meknes, and Marakesh. Our guide had made all the reservations, checked us in, carried our bags, and made sure our breakfast and dinner meals were arranged. The riads (bed and breakfast inns)!were beautiful, clean and comfortable.
I can’t say enough about our guide, Mohammed. He spoke 5 languages and was our constant translator. He answered our thousands of questions, from everything from Moroccan history, geography, culture and religion. He had a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor, crucial when you are traveling together for si many hours. He helped us bargain in the medinas and made changes along the way, cutting out some stops for example if we were tired.
High points of our trip were the Camel ride into the safari and ‘glamping’ overnight in the Safari desert, and visiting Dar Blues.
It was a life changing experience and we highly recommend it.

We just took a 3 night 4 day tour with Camel SAFARIES from Marrakech to Fes. It was fantastic. We were picked up right at the door of our Riad. Our tour guide Yaakoub was great at explaining things and giving us interesting information about the people and places. He also told jokes that my kids thought were hilarious. We had a 15 year old, 12 year old, 9 year old and 4 year old and they all enjoyed themselves. We did one day of riding camels into Erg Chebbi desert and stayed at the camp and that was unbelievable. The whole trip was a lot of driving but we did enough stops to break it up though I’d still recommend bringing something for kids to do in the car.

Excellent experience of a two week group tour followed by another two weeks of private tour of lesser traveled regions of the country. Top ten travel with knowledgeable, experienced guide who shepherded us through the entire process, making it feel effortless as well as seamless. Highly recommended.

We planned to travel to Morocco from 2021 it finally materialized in 2022, and was definitely worth the wait! Throughout the entire process Camel Safaries put together an extremely memorable trip for us with amazing sites, hotels and guides. Our guide, Moha was the best. He was so nice and knowledgeable and drove the streets and highways of Morocco so skillfully. I'm often nervous in passing cars on the highway, but he did so with such experience that I never felt stressed or afraid. He was so welcoming and knowledgeable.

We started our trip in Casablanca and visted Hassan 2 Mosque, Rabat,Volubilis and the blue city of Chefchaouen. In Fes we experienced the old Medina with our sweet local guide, Hajar. Next, the Sahara Desert where we rode camels to a wonderful luxury camp. A magical and memorable experience! Then crossed the Atlas Mountains and Todra Gorge. We visited a nomad family living in a cave with their sheep. We enjoyed the stay at Chez Pierre in Dades Gorges. Our local guide in Marrakech, Mohammed, was so funny and we had a great time. Each experience was its own highlight, making it hard to choose the best.

This was definitely one of the best trip experiences thanks to the great work of the Camel Safaries team.

Morocco is a beyond-beautiful country. I don't speak Arabic so having a driver for our 15 day adventure (sans dessert) was beyond essential. Khalid, our expert driver, navigated the ins and outs of our trip with ease and eliminated the friction we surely would have had without his steady guidance and native Arabic and Berber. I highly recommend Khalid as a driver for a multi-week adventure.

If you are heading to the country in the next several months, check to see if the main sights in Meknes and El Jadida are open. The 'blue gate' in Meknes is under repair as is the cistern on the UNESCO World Heritage site. Unless you are going in warm weather, I'd recommend skipping El Jadida.

Also, while Essaouria is a small seaside town, give it an overnight stay to relax. Stay at Salut Maroc! if you can. It's the most creatively interesting riad I've ever seen.

Make sure you take a guided tour of the mosque in Casablanca. In addition to being a wonderful place for Muslims to worship, it is stunning architecture, showcasing the artisans of Morocco.

We took a 9 night private drive from Marrakesh to the desert, it was an amazing experience. Great riads and hotels, delicious food and incredible landscape. Highly recommended tour, what I enjoyed the most was that every day was different, from the city to exuberant green palm trees, mountains, river, gorges, the desert. Incredible stay in luxury haimas in the desert in a beautiful camp, lovely camel ride and sand snowboarding, we visited and enjoyed a bereber family hospitality, every day an incredible experience.
We were in best hands with Mohamed, our guide, and Khalid, our skilled and friendly driver, you feel very safe with him on the wheel. Mohamed has a great knowledge and a big sense of humour and nice personality, it was such a fun to travel with him. Mohamed and Khalid, always attentive on our needs, are part of our great memories of this trip. I highly recommend this tour to enjoy Morocco in a genuine way.
