The cooking school at Riad Kaiss is available to resident guests and to non-resident guests on an advanced reservation basis. The cooking classes at Riad Kaiss are conducted in conjunction with those at sister hotel Dar Les Cigognes, winner of "Best Moroccan Cooking School 2011" and follow the same format, have the same team of teachers, and same set up.With a team of 5 dadas, traditional Moroccan chefs, an executive Moroccan chef, a consultant chef who has worked in one of the leading kitchens of the world, and the author of a Moroccan cookbook on our team, we are well placed to teach all aspects of Moroccan cooking. We do private classes only, so the content of the class and its format can vary. Class sizes have varied from between 1 person and up to 20 and can be in duration from one hour to multi-day, with the most popular format a half-day class. Our classes are very hands on, as we believe that you will learn by doing, tasting as you go, and repeating so that it is you who makes each dish...We have been giving cooking classes in Marrakech since 2001, and have had thousands of participants over the years. We look forward to welcoming you.

I booked this cookery course with Eben as a surprise for my husband (who is a chef) for our last day of our stay in Marrakech. Eben had been very helpful via email before our visit to organise the class to be specific to our needs as the class is one to one. When we arrived we were greeted by... More

As a food blogger I set a goal to complete 5 cooking classes in 5 different countries in 2012. My cooking class at Riad Kaiss by Sanssouci Collection was by far the best experience of all the classes I took this past year. Eben was a fabulous host and went out of his way to accommodate our interests. He led... More

I've eaten in a fair few restaurants in Morocco and in most of the touristy places they don't actually slow-cook the food in the tagine, but instead they prepare all the food separately, assemble it in the tagine dish, heat it up a little and then present it to you. In an attempt to get to eat something more authentic,... More
