I came to know Imzi tours through ad in the bus tours flyer. I called them. They were very prompt and pleasant. I got a quote for 250 Dirham/person. It was quoted 23 Euros on the net. When I exclaimed, she offered a discount to be 230 dirhams/person.
She got only my hotel name and room number and fixed the pick up date and time for pick up.
They were punctuate on collection. Near the central areas; there were many small buses. They took us to another bus heading to Ouzoud. Here was the last experience with Imzi. It seems they recruit tourists, take their commission and vanish.
The Minibus was a nice VW van, was not full. I was expecting to have an agenda and explanation about the happening but they left it to nature and surprises.
The trip is 3 hours each way with small lanes and limited speed.but nice scenery. The driver made his personal planned stops where he gets complimentary food and drinks and possibly incentive as well. We arrived in Ouzoud and without any word we were left for a local guide to deal with us according to his terms. There were no labels in the area whatsoever. . The guide took us to the village road, olive trees, Arkan oil factory in a slippery pathways. We ended down at the foot of cascades on the wrong side having to pay extra 20 Dirhams to cross the pool. Then he herded everybody to a very bad restaurant, very bad food but with good views and clean toilets. The meal is served for 90 Dirhams/ person which is a rip off. We got the stairs on our way upwards. We had a stop for Monkeys viewing and feeding (Better to safe whatever fruits and bread left over in Restaurant to hand over for the Monkeys) The Guide ripped 30 dirhams/person really for nothing just led us to commercial areas, muddy slippery floors and bad restaurant. If I could get a clue where to use the standard stairs I would not have followed him. He was just useless. I saw him even handing over some money to our driver. Trip back was uneventful with a stop 80 km before Marrakech.

I got back last night from my 2 night tour. The driver dropped everyone off at the main square, DJamaa el fnaa instead of our hotels as was agreed when i made the booking. Cost me 60 Dirham (€6) extra to get home.

The 2 night tour cost €110... but there are hidden things you need to pay for.
The tour is half board and the driver (who doesnt speak a word of english) stops at expensive restaurants for lunch in the middle of nowhere that serve awful food - lunch will cost 70 dirham or €7 and your drink ontop of that. Almost triple what it would cost anywhere else. You have to pay because you will be very hungry at lunchtime!
a girl in my tour group ordered sphagetti and she litterally got a plate of spaghetti... no sauce, just plain white tasteless spaghetti, which cost 50 dirham... €5

The sights they show you are taken by guides that charge everyone 20 dirhams each (which nobody was told about).. and we had to pay this on two occassions.

Breakfast is either waffles with maple syrup or bread. Couldnt have been given a cheaper breakfast...
they ran out of waffles quickly so a few people in my group GENUINELY had bread and water for breakfast...

The camels are poorly treated by the sahara tour guides.
One of the camels was foaming at the mouth and they hit it on the head with a pair of sandals ... i was absolutely disgusted at that.
camels had cuts that were clearly infected and had no signs of treatment.

Positive notes are - being in the middle of the desert was awesome, they had entertainment at the camp which was good, the bus had air conditioning and the 7-9 hours of driving each day was generally pleasant with plenty of rest stops.

We booked our trip very last minute, so we weren't sure exactly what we wanted to do. Upon arriving we met with an agent from Imzi and decided to do the 3 day 2 night tour. We wanted our own driver, and we lucked out. Ibrahim was amazing. He not only was such a wealth of knowledge, but he also was beyond helpful with any little thing that we needed. His english was very good, his driving was impeccable, and he made the entire 3 day journey an absolute treat. If you can, ask for him; he was so good we hired him to take us around the two days after our excursion to the desert. Can't speak highly enough about him, or what an amazing adventure we had out to the desert.

I did the Zagora tour (1 night, 2 days) in December.
Expect a long drive in mountains (4 out of 14 persons got sick). Landscape is very beautiful, however only very few stops to take good shots! when the stops are at good place to take pictures!
Driver was speaking a very broken English and French. We got very dry information. I heard from other persons on the trips that on some other tour the driver was very good, but on this one, nothing to recommand. Overall on this trip, I didn't learn anything about Berber nor Touarek, which is a shame.
At Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, guide must be paid (I knew it, but other person on the tour didn't), however, it was on time pressure, but we also lost so much time, since no clear time expectation given.
Desert.... humm ya... few dunes of 1 meter high and still see villages lights around, however cool to ride a camel :) Next time, I shall go to Sahara! If you travel in winter, think about some extra for sleeping, everybody was frozen in the night.
Price on the website should be negociated, that is not a final price.

Overall, it could have been a very good tour, since raw material is there (landscape, culture, history), but unfortunately it wasn't delievered properly :(

Our Riad booked this 2 days Zagoura tour with them, I regret it. Terrible organization. I have some doubts on the number of "one reviews" on this tour. We left marrakesh with more than one hour delay, and guess what, just after leaving we stop to fuel the minivan, as if it could not be done before. We stopped at disgusting and overpriced restaurants on both days for lunch, even our "guide" admitted it. As a consequence we reached Zagoura and it was already dark, no sunset and camel ride in the dark.
It is a shame as the sites visited are good (ait ben haddou/night with the berbere in Zagoura dunes/dates fields) but it would have been much better with a more professional and punctual tour. Would not recommend it

Can’t speak highly enough of the accommodation, personalized service & truly unique experience tailored to my requests. I never felt rushed & always felt like I was involved & had control with the planning process. Our driver Ibrahim, where do I begin?!? He made 3- long days in a private van with A/C through winding cliff side mountain roads an absolute delight! Offering bathroom breaks, suggesting sightseeing opportunities, knowing the best photo ops & assisting to take pictures! Ibrahim, although only 24 years old, demonstrated patience, calm demeanor, and expertise driving dangerous cliffside winding roads! We wanted to pay forward to the poor mountain people by bringing some gifts to hand out to women & children in need and Ibrahim was so helpful and translated all transactions and knew the best places to stop and get more bang for your Dirham to help benefit those in need! This was an unforgettable experience and I will be returning to Morocco again as soon as I possibly can! I highly recommend booking with IMZI tours and specially requesting Ibrahim as your driver! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5- STAR EXPERIENCE!!! So accommodating!

We had a fantastic tour from Marrakech via the Atlas mountains to Merzouga, Sahara with Imzi Tour. A long busdrive but an exotic experience. Atlas through Ticha pass with Whitney snow and Sahara desert with yellowbrown sand and flegmatic dromedars in to the tentcamp. Sleipingene under the stars and nearly full moon! The 3 days tour compared to the price was a good choice.

Signed up for the 2 night 3 day desert excursion for 80 euros. Most of the other top ranked tours were about 200 euros and I can see why. This was not a good experience- you get what you pay for. We spent more time driving to and from then actually in the desert. There were so many stops along the way, at least once an hour, that were completely unnecessary. Most were tours of Berber villages that were not included in the price, stops at carpet shops, souvenir shops. The first night we stayed in a "hotel" that was so dirty. There was visible mold in the bathrooms, the sheets were dirty, and the staff was surly. The food was of poor quality as well.

By the time we got to the Sahara the next night it was 6pm. We were yelled at to get on camels to take us to camp (no regard for friend groups or families wanting to stay together) and served an ok dinner. We heard some drum music and climbed a sand dune (it was too dark to see anything to though!) and were woken up at 5am the next day and once again put on camels to get back on our bus. A side note, some of the camp staff are completely unprofessional. One hit on one of the girls in the trip inappropriately the whole night.

Breakfast and dinner are included each day, but they are not appetizing. Every place we stopped at along the way was disgusting. Several people were sick on the way back home.

Bottom line, they don't care about your experience, they just want your money!

Dear Sara, We are very sorry about all the inconveniences you went through. We are just as disappointed as you are by your experience since we like our clients to be satisfied with our services. Thank you for all your feed back, that will definitely help us improve our products. We'll make it a priority to check with our partners to make sure basic and necessary rules of hygiene and reception are matched. Concerning your other critics, the stops are planned and mentioned in the offer package, however thanks to you we have decided to rewrite our website content to make sure it is stated clearly and include the possibility to discuss the number of stops and locations. About the food, could you please specify what you didn't like exactly so that we can work on it? All other suggestions are welcome, so feel free to share with us any further comments. Thank you for this precious contribution !

Fantastic experience with this company. We had a driver/guide for the two of us. We went through the Atlas Mountain, Ouarzazate region, Dades valley, Ait Ben Hadou, to the desert for a night. The guide was nice, on time and the trip was perfect.

Please don't go to the desert from Marrakech in three days or less. It is at least a three nights trip if you want to enjoy.

Very good quality/price.

Hôtels were o.k. but since we are on the road most of the time, it wasn't a problem.

I recommand this trip and company to anyone. They come and get you at the door of your hotel or riad in Marrakech and let you enjoy the ride.

Our overall rating for this tour is very good as the experience really was wonderful but there were some negative points which we want to highlight for future travellers and which are actually really easy for the company to improve on and subsequently make this a top attraction.

So first of all, a positive: we were recommended Imzi tours by a very helpful man at the Tourist Information office in Marrakech. The price for the 2 day 1 night trip to Zagora was VERY competitive - €70 per person including pick up from near our Riad, travel in a modern, comfortable, air conditioned minibus, accommodation in 6-person tents in the desert, 1.5 hour camel trek and dinner in the Berber camp. Other subsequent meals aren't included (lunch on both days) and most importantly DRINKS WITH DINNER IN THE DESERT ARE NOT INCLUDED. This doesn't mean you have to pay for them there, this means you MUST buy the drinks for dinner and that night BEFORE you reach the desert... I.e. the driver made a final stop about half an hour before we got to Zagora telling us "This is a supermarket where you can buy beer, chocolate and crisps, there is no water in the desert hahaha". He didn't tell us this was the last chance we would have to buy any liquids before the next morning.... suffice to say when we realised at dinner that there was nothing to drink, we suffered a bit...!

ANother negative was that we never received our ruck sack meaning we slept in the tent with no change of clothes or toiletries, which to be fair was ok for the night but my advice to travellers would be to travel light, bring a back pack and TAKE IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU REACH THE CAMELS...

Apart from this, we had an awesome time, our group was lovely and friendly, our driver was a bit of a nutter but a great laugh, the minibuses were in good condition and the tours and scenery were great. This trip is very good value for money. My only recommendation to Izmi would be to make it clearer that there are literally no drinks available in the desert. Other than that, would definitely recommend.
