During our visits to marrakech, we always drop in here to see what products are available in the souks (without being hassled), and the top price you could expect to pay, as most items are marked, (set price), once armed with the knowledge we feel much better to venture into the souks.
A visit here is also a must for first timers and people who don't like haggling.
be sure to visit cyber park across the road, (see review).

For me bringing back poufs from Morocco as souvenirs was very important. If you are looking for high-quality ones, then look no further (I am talking about the poufs without any stitching patterns). The ones we bought were made from pure leather. If you compare to the ones from the souk, those will show a backing underneath the leather, visible if you look inside the poufs. The difference in quality and not having to haggle so hard for it made it worth for me pay ca. 200 Dirhams more than the prices quoted in the souks (plus not even finding the same quality)
For other items like raftar bags it is perfect to see general prices and then go to the souks to haggle hard. I guess it is always just a balance of when you are willing to pay more for better quality and when not - and how much time you have to find higher quality goods in the souks.
Fo me at least, Ensemble Artisanal will be recommended to all my friends visiting Marrakesh. Easy to reach by taking busnr. 6 to bus stop Hotel Ville. Do look around into the different shops in the Ensemble. The prices will differ slightly as well as in varities of goods.

This place is not mentioned a lot across the websites. I discovered accidentally on the Marrakech map (recommended spots) that riad gave me.
Not very big market, but it's quite worthy to go. Walking distance from Koutoubia. I have bought a little bit something in souks earlier, and I found the price here is pretty much the same without haggling needed. Especially the leather goods price in the shop in the middle circle, very reasonable, make my life much easier to buy two handbags there.
I enjoy walking in souks, and shopping here.

Not a bargain, and not what it seems
Basically, this is a mall specializing fairly expensive gift/art/craft related items. These items are of mostly reasonably good quality... but are factory made, rather than craftsman made. The items are sort of a Disneyesque pastiche made to appeal to tourist tastes.
The good side is seeing a wide variety of decent quality items within the shopping mall experience that we westerners find comfortable. You do not have aggressive flim flam salesmen chasing you around

This artisan centre consists of many shops with very good quality items. The jewellery is so much better than in the souks and is properly finished off. Artisans are at work in the woodwork shop with items made from the roots of cedar in beautiful shapes as well as inlaid boxes. Leather and antique items too if you can get them home but shipping is not a problem. You may pay more but the quaility is so much better. Good little cafe too.

So glad we found this place - if you are not confident haggling or wanting to browse at your leisure with no pressure it's ideal. Sells many of the items in the souks (except scarves annoyingly) at a reasonable price. Good to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the main square.

Shopping in the souks is fun but stressful in large amounts if you're not used to haggling. Also some goods in the souks are great, others are less good... this collection of shops offers high quality products at fixed prices. I bought a higher value item here because I wanted a better guarantee of quality for this item. Pay a visit before settling on what you want to take home and before making big purchases in the souks.

Nice restaurant in the middle of the market to have some traditional Moroccan food. Good value as well. There are some decent stores if you want to pick up some traditional/local things. We hadn’t experienced the Médina souks yet to compare them. Very relaxed environment and not many people there so nice if you don’t like the hectic nature of other markets.

Visited the souks which is worth the visit but this is the place to buy your souvenirs. No haggling and good quality goods. Well worth the short walk from the market square even if it’s just to sense check your prices.

Tourist guides for Marrakech warn you, not to get a henna tattoo at the "Square", because there is no control about professionalism and toxic ingredients like PPD. But if you think, you are better off, if you go to the Ensemble Artisanal, you are wrong. The young woman, who is doing henna tattoos there, uses PPD without any warnings. My daughter got a terrible infection and a dramatic allergic reaction after getting a tattoo there. She will suffer for the rest of her life from it. Therefore, don't go for a henna tattoo at the ensemble artisanal - there are other shops, however, which offer quite good products. I don't want to condemn the whole institutions.

Yes. But since they are so good at packaging them it is much more cost effective to carry them home if possible. I brought two rugs home that way that were 4x6.
