Ismail Ingrioui perfectly executed our exotic, Moroccan adventure. After 3 days in Marrakesh, my husband and I were delighted to meet Ismail, and our driver Mostofa, for a guided 6-day countryside tour, which early on proved to be fascinating and fun. From Marrakesh to Skoura, to the Sahara, to Agdz, and finally to Ourika Valley, Ishmail introduced us to some of his favorite dishes at local restaurants, guided us through historic Kasbah's including Ait Benhaddou, and Kasbah Amridil, numerous villages that dotted the beautiful country, and a working Oasis where locals share water to each grow their own quince, olives, dates, alfalfa and more. We often stopped to take in the landscape from barren to lush, flat to mountainous, and gorges that brought to mind the Grand Canyon. He was well known by the locals at every stop and was able to show us unique gifts and artwork for purchase. Don't hesitate to shop where he takes you, there were items we didn't find elsewhere. Our favorite was as we approached the Sahara for scarves. Three lovely young women dressed us in traditional Berber desert wear of bright colors and ornate jewelry for some once-in-a-lifetime photos. While my husband enjoyed mint tea with the shop owner and guides, I enjoyed my 1-to-1 time with a beautiful 18 year old girl who adorned my hand with henna as I listened to her talk about her plans for her future. No trip to Morocco could be complete without a trip to the Sahara, including a camel ride to watch the sunset over the dunes. Ismail stayed with us until we left on our evening ride to insure our comfort, and then met us at our luxury camp. Always discrete, he saved his plans for the next day until we were leaving the camp so other guests would not know the adventure their guides couldn't provide. We were delighted to find ourselves driving through the sand dunes, exploring an old city on foot, and visiting a Nomad home. Ismail spoke to the woman to let her know who we were, and she welcomed us into her tent with mint tea. Afterwards we visited a Berber drum music facility where dancing was unavoidable. Based on what I heard from other travelers we met later in our trip, these experiences were unique, and were the highlights of our adventure. Ismail was able to answer all of our questions, and because he grew up in the area, he was able to talk to the locals making them comfortable with our visit. He shared stories of his personal life and that of his family growing up in the Atlas mountains. Ismail's love for Morocco and respect for his Berber culture was apparent throughout the trip. Ismail has an abundance of experience leading groups of all sizes, ages, and nationalities. He is well educated, well spoken, and speaks several languages. He is thoughtful, kind, and good humored. I highly recommend that you plan your Moroccan trip with Ismail. Safe travels.

The trip planned by Ismail and his team was absolutely Amazing! They really understood the experience we wanted to have in Morocco and they catered lodgings, meals, and tours perfectly! In Casablanca, we visited the magnificent Hassan II Mosque. The experience became a colorful adventure in Chefchaouen, the blue city in the Rif Mountains. In Fes, the Medina was a fascinating experience but you have to be careful with the shopping and control yourself (too late for me). Every city was unique, but the Sahara Desert was the star of the show and the luxury Berber camp was more than we could ever dream of from the camel ride to the camp, the dinner, the party, life music, dancing and the heart-shaped birthday cake; it was magical! We followed that unforgettable experience by visiting Todgha Gorge, thousands of palm-trees in breathtaking oasis and an amazing fortified village, Ait Ben Haddou. In Marrakech, we visited the Jemma El Fna Square including tasting the delights of the square before heading to the Palais Jad Mahal via carriage ride. Our trip would have not been the same without our driver, Tarik. He became family to us over the two weeks he shared his wonderful country with us. We will definitely call on Ismail and Tarik for our next trip to Morocco as we are already planning to return with family and friends. We highly recommend Sahara Dreams Travel and our fabulous hosts Ismail Ingrioui and Tarik Koman ~ shukran jazilan lak and tanmirt to my Berber people.
