Incredible afternoon!

Soud is an amazing person to know. My daughter had her heart set on a cooking class, we said that we would join.
My husband is a chef and loved his time with Soud. The hospitality and food cooked was fabulous. We got recipes that we will create at home for sure. I loved this class, go see this lovely woman!

Very nice experience, really delicious food!!!

So when we told our guide that we were interested in having a cooking class he suggested that we take this cooking class in a local Moroccan family workshop :) And so we did! They picked us from our Riad and took us to the home where we were about to spend the day! We had mint tea and chatted little bit with Mr. Khalid, the man of the house! We decided what we were about to cook before going to the soul! Then we went to the Souk with Souad where we picked the ingredients for our dishes. I wanted to make a traditional dish but my sister wanted something milder with less spices! And so we prepared a Lamb tagine with prunes and cloves and a deep fried chicken a la marrocain. We also prepared an easy desert ( flán) and a salad! Over all it was a very good experience!

This is a must do in marrakech! The family is so friendly and makes you feel at home. They welcome you with excellent tea and home made bakery. Then they take you to the local food market which is the best experience ever! After coming home with your food you start preparing your meals in their kitchen and learn about the moroccan culture and food. In the end you enjoy the delicious food in very good and warm atmosphere.
Thanks a lot to Souad and Khalid for this great time!

Wonderful Authentic Experience!
Jun 2019
My husband and I had the most wonderful experience as guests in Souad and Khalid’s home and kitchen. What a rare opportunity to skip the tourist experience and enjoy spending time with a modern Moroccan family. It was exciting to go to the local souk and choose fresh food to learn to prepare in a new and tasty way! I can’t recommend this experience enough!

A delightful experience
Mar 2019 • Couples
My wife and I were delighted with our cooking experience today. Souad first discussed with us which Moroccan dishes we wanted to cook, and we chose fish with onion and lemon plus lamb with artichokes, peas, and potatoes...plus safa, a dish of tiny pastas with cinnamon, almond and powdered sugar. Also a lemon flan. We then went to the nearby market full of fresh ingredients and purchased everything needed. We cooked together, with Souad making everything easy, understandable and fun. We ended up with delectable dishes, which we happily ate. Finally returning to our hotel in the medina, most satisfied, happy, and full. We highy recommend this experience.

A visit to a Moroccan family home for a unique cooking and eating experience
Mar 2019 • Friends
What a privilege to be invited to a typical Moroccan home and to experience first hand the wonderful hospitality of Souad and Khalid. We were welcomed with tea, bread, olives and Souad's homemade chocolates. Souad gave us options as to the choice of main dish to make, then it was off to the nearby food souk to buy the ingredients. You'll want to linger and wander the market, revelling in the glorious colors and scents of the freshest vegetables, fruit, and spices. I enjoyed working alongside Souad in her kitchen, learning the spice combinations for each dish, and the techniques for cooking in a tagine. And at the end, we enjoyed the 3 course meal we had prepared together. And before leaving, Souad gave us each a gift of her preserved lemons. I'll be using those soon and putting into practice what I learned with Souad.

Souad's Marrakech Cooking Class was our first adventure in Morocco, from having our second breakfast upon arrival with Khalid, then shopping for ingredients at a local market where we were the only foreigners, to preparing 2 full 3-course meals....and eating them! Delicious! I was testing out a new phone/camera and the cooking class offered the perfect subjects. Portraits of Souad, all the colorful veggies, fruit, (orange & turquoise aprons and curtains), the tajines, plus the views out the window of the used furniture market....all documented for a fine first day. I would definitely recommend Marrakech Cooking Class for an in-home experience of Moroccan hospitality.

Experience Marrakech through the eyes of the locals
Feb 2019 • Friends
Exceptionally friendly and helpful host, Khalid and his family welcomed us in his city, in his house. They wanted to make sure we will experience and taste the best of what his country has to offer.
Souad prepared a very tasty, well arranged meal, dessert and fresh juices. We felt like at home and really enjoyed the evening. Thanks for the experience!

For the love of the country, i was out again in Morocco since i cannot get enough of the people, culture and food... Yes! Food.

This time, it was through the eyes of a master in traditional Moroccean delicacies from the Marrakech Cooking Class... Souad was simply phenomenal from the market trip to the kitchen. And ofcourse the icing of the day... The food... very tasty and good. I will be back with my friends for the summer or earlier. Great job!!!

Cooking class at home
Feb 2019 • Family
Enjoy the family vibe at the local home! This cooking class was our first experience in Marrakech, we learn about the local ingredients, traditional dishes, and enjoy the hospitality of the local.

Khalid drove us to his home, and Souad prepared all the fresh local ingredients. She teaches us four dishes: pumpkin soup with cheese, vegetarian tagine, lamb tagine, and flan for dessert ! The soup is definitely tasty and easy to cook dish for us to enjoy a hint of Morocco taste at home. We learn about the secret spice combination to balance the favorite with the seasonal veggies for the tagine. And the flan provide a good finishing note to this family dinner, and we got to meet their kids and learn more about the local family life :) We recommend this cooking class, a choice that is more homey and local.
