From the wild (and amazingly safe) Medina in Marrakech with an amazing food tour to the blue city of Chefchaouen and the get lost in Fez medina, you will experience all the sights and sounds and smells of Morocco. A camel ride into the desert of millions of stars. Local female guides with amazing knowledge (and ability to speak a bunch of languages!). If you want to be immersed in culture, this trip will fulfill that desire.

I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since I was on this incredible tour! It feels like yesterday that my friends and I were experiencing the amazing sites, sounds, smells (the spices!) and tastes of Morocco. Yes, tastes - for me, this was huge. I’m not able to eat gluten, don’t do much dairy and also can’t eat bell peppers. Eating these can quickly turn a vacation from fun into no fun. Genevieve and her team were AMAZING, have to say it twice, AMAZING. At every meal, the restaurant was already informed and/or I had locals to help communicate and keep me healthy. She even arranged for me join the group on the food tour in Marrakesh - the most amazing gluten free couscous was made especially for me at a completely off the beaten path place. I couldn’t have asked for more. It was such a relief to know I was taken care of. We were taken care of in so many ways - from an easy airport pickup and drop-off, to luggage being brought to our rooms, to making sure we had water, to learning how to tie scarves and keep the dust out - everyone was so thoughtful. There was so much I loved about this trip - I loved being with a small group and not waiting for an entire busload of people to join. I loved the variety of places we got to experience - from the bustling cities, to riding a camel into the Sahara - and experiencing a beautiful sunset, stars and sunrise, to the colorful blue of Chefchaouen. The trip was a perfect mix of time with guides, being shown and learning about the sites, and time to explore some on your own. Thank you, Genevieve and Archaeo Adventures for the wonderful time and memories!!

After hearing a presentation by owner, Genevieve Hathaway, at Savvy Traveler in Edmonds, we joined her 2018 group trip with ArchaeoAdventures Tours to Egypt. What an incredible trip! Could not have had a better, more informative experience! Excellent, knowledgeable local Egyptian tour guide Yassmin, was hired by Genevieve, part of her commitment to support local women guides & operators. It was a meticulously planned, very detailed itinerary to highlight the best of ancient Egypt sites and sights. Added to that were the experiences of great hotels, interesting restaurants, & varied transportation (camel, hot air balloon, tuk tuk, small van, dahabiya (boat) cruise on Nile, & in-country flight). The amount of planning to incorporate such intensive travel paired with the amazing experiences could only be accomplished with 1) intimate knowledge of Egypt, 2) stellar in country connections, and 3) major preparation. There were a dozen people on our tour, allowing for easy maneuverability and, when necessary, ability to adjust quickly to suit changed circumstances. Would definitely recommend this boutique tour group to Egypt for the personal experience & adventure of a lifetime! Thanks, Genevieve & also to guide, Yassmin & coordinator, Tamer!!!”

If you've always wanted to experience Morocco, then this is the trip for you! My three friends and I went on the Archaeo Adventures Majestic Morocco trip in Oct 2018 and had the time of our lives. From the teeming markets of Marrakech to the wide expanse of the Sahara desert to Fez, the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen and Casablanca, we saw it all! Genevieve is not only a great guide, but loves photography too, so we got the additional benefit of having great photos to relive the experience. If you take this trip, know that Genevieve and her team will take great care of you!

Our group of four friends had a blast as we traveled from the chaotic medinas of Marrakesh and Fez to the absolutely stunning blue city of Chefchaouen. In between, there were mountains and casbahs and sand dunes and a night sky in the Sahara that I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would see in person. Highlights included the Local Food Tour in Marrakesh, where we had the best couscous of the trip; the beautiful riyad we stayed at in Fez, and listening to the call to prayers from the mosque high above Chefchaouen. But, the best part of the trip was how we did not have to think about anything other than having a good time because Genevieve took care of everything (like tips, and travel to and from the airport, and hiring barrel men to take our luggage to the riyads, and hiring local guides to give us a truly local experience). It really made for a stress free vacation. I wholeheartedly recommend Genevieve and her tours. Not only is she an exceptional guide, she also became a friend.
