We stayed two excellent nights at Chez Pierre in the Dades Gorge, which is locally owned and run. While there we met Ismael, part-owner of the hotel and operator of Sahara Atlas Tours. Even though we hadn't made prior reservations, Ismael spent a whole day giving us a tour of the Gorge and the Valley of the Roses, which we enjoyed immensely. He was a friendly, gracious host, and spent extra time helping us out and giving local recommendations. We hadn't heard of Sahara Atlas Tours before coming to Morocco, but now we recommend it to anyone traveling there. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Took up a 4 day private tour with Sahara Atlas, fantastic experience. First day accommodation at Auberge Chez Pierre, we had a wonderful and unexpected standard of dinner there. They are serving moroccan food in fine dine manner and the presentation and taste of the food are fantastic.
Next day we met our driver guide Abdul, a special guide who seems to know everyone in Morocco, and his knowledge and explanation on the tour sites are fantastic. A normal looking kasbah become so interesting after his explanation and draw our curiosity to explore deeper into the sites.
A big regret is we are taking only 4 day tour, time spend on travelling take up a big portion of the tour, should have taken the 6 days tour instead.
But with Abdul's experience, we just state what we want, and he made the recommendations, making the tour not in a rushing pace, and we can have a comfortable time enjoy each site.
Overall service from Sahara Altas is fantastic, very recommended to take up the tour and feel free to discuss what you need with them, and they will be able to make good recommendations.

We’ve been home for a month and I am ready to book another trip to Morocco with Sahara Atlas Tours! Everything about the trip — the itinerary, the lodging, the guides, the food, the opportunities to experience the “real” Morocco — was top notch. Sahara Atlas was extremely easy to work with and committed to customize our tour to match our interests and travel goals. The three of us (55+ females) decided against the more cookie cutter large group “organized tours approach” and were
pleasantly surprised when the quote from Sahara Atlas for a highly customized tour for just the three of us was highly competitive. As a result, we enjoyed 12 days and 11 nights focused on our special interests — textiles, photography, local culture. Our driver and guide, Ismail, was extremely sensitive to our needs and interests; his flexibility, knowledge, and connections everywhere we went afforded us experiences one could never have on a bus tour with a large group (going off road in the High Atlas, a picnic under olive trees to break up a long drive, visiting in a cave with a multi-generational nomad family, learning to make couscous in a family home and sharing the meal with them once it was done — just to name a few). When we did travel a main highway we saw tour buses — and were thankful not to be on them because we knew they weren’t having the same experiences. I highly recommend Sahara Atlas Tours if you are interested in seeing the “real” Morocco.

In November, 2021, my husband and I toured Morocco and enjoyed it so much I returned in November, 2022. This time I was with two other females, all of us 55+.

Ismail from Sahara Atlas tours helped organize our trip. He was easy to work with, responded promptly to requests and/or comments, and helped us organize a personalized tour.

We spent 3 nights in Fes, one night in Imilchil, 3 nights in Dades Valley, 2 nights in Marrakech, and one night in Essaouira. Our final night was in Casablanca to visit the mosque and be near the airport for an early morning flight. As I reflect back on our itinerary, I do not think there is anything I would change. Ismail helped us organize a tour that was designed for our interests and consistent with our desire to avoid some of the tourist stops.

Early in the planning process, Ismail asked about the level of accommodations we desired, thus we were able to balance costs and comfort. We chose mid-range accommodations and were delighted with them.

There were 3 of us “older” women traveling in a very comfortable SUV. This made it possible to visit places we would not have been able to access in a larger vehicle.

I think the main reason we had such a successful trip was that we had a very, very knowledgeable guide who understood and responded positively to our needs and interests.

We were concerned about the cost of a private, personalized tour when compared to a group tour. We found the price to be very competitive, and in some cases, less than group tours.

Yes, I plan to return to Morocco and yes, I will use Sahara Atlas Tours.

My husband and I did a 5-day tour from Marrakech through the High Atlas, Dades Gorge and the Sahara ending in Fes. The views were stunning, and we met some amazing people along the way. Our driver Abdullah made sure we were comfortable at every point and shared his immense knowledge of Moroccan culture and history. He made sure we weren’t rushed on the journey so we could make stops if we saw something interesting.

Chez Pierre in Dades Gorge is a delightful oasis with delicious food and attentive staff, and it was an absolute joy to hear traditional Gnawa music around a campfire at the Sahara campsite.

Once in Fes, a local guide took us on a tour to explore the ancient medina and see artisans practicing their craft. As we were coming to the end of our trip, we were interested in adding an extra day for a day trip to Chefchaouen, which Abdullah and Sahara Atlas Tours graciously accommodated.

This was definitely the trip of a lifetime, and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Morocco.

I have used Sahara Atlas Tours several times in the past. I needed to get away, and since Morocco is open, I got in touch with Ismail. As usual, Ismail has shown me authentic villages and had me try new foods other than the typical tajin. I felt very safe in regards to the Covid protocols that they follow, like disinfecting the car and wiping the interior down at times. Thank you Ismail and the entire team. I am sure I will be back.

Big thanks to Helen and the team for arranging our 8 day Fes>Merzouga>Dades>Marrakesh road trip - we ALL had an amazing time. Abdul was the perfect driver and kept us all very safe with his careful driving, which was very much appreciated, especially by my wife who was sitting in the front most of the time with the aim of avoiding her usual travel sickness. Mission accomplished! Such a fantastic experience for the kids, one that they’ll remember forever, so, big thank you to Sahara Atlas Tours for helping to make our trip such a success.

Please pass on my thanks to Abdul and the guys on the ground.
Warm greetings to you all from Lisbon, Portugal

What a fabulous tour company Sahara Atlas Tours is. A wealth of local knowledge on all parts of Morocco and you leave them feeling part of the family.

Nothing is too much and they will accommodate all your needs, along with designing your tours the way you want, very flexible and ensure your style is adapted. We loved the personal nature of the trips and being able to take everything at our own pace.

Inspiring experiences whilst travelling through Morocco with them, comfortable cars and very safe driving, along with alittle fun along the way. Nothing like a little singing and dancing to local tunes to break up the long drives.

A very huge thank you to Ismail for taking extra special care of my husband and I, we were very grateful to continue exploring your beautiful country and meeting you and your team made it even harder to leave.

Definitely recommend Sahara Atlas Tours and look forward to returning to Morocco in the near future to experience more adventures together.

We’ve just returned from 6 amazing days traveling through Morocco with our driver-guide Abdullah. We highly recommend Abdullah and Sahara Atlas Tours. My wife and I took our 22-year old son to Morocco and Spain for a graduation gift, and Abdullah was recommended by a friend who had visited Morocco. Abdullah was incredibly helpful from the start of our planning. He helped us develop our itinerary, with intimate knowledge of the entire country, the driving distances/times, and what we could do on our own. We spent three days in Marrakech on our own, then another 6 driving with Abdullah to Dades Gorge, Erg Chebbi, Fes, Chefchauen and Tangier. Abdullah’s recommendations were spot on. This was brought home to us powerfully when we arrived at our beautifully remote small tent camp in the Sahara, passing on the way (by camel) the many commercial “tent cities” packed tightly together that other visitors were staying in. His recommendation of Auberge Chez Pierre in Dades Gorge was simply stunning. (We wished we had two nights there! Spend two - you won't regret it!) He had truly helpful advice for the medinas and towns we visited and explored on our own. But the highlight was Abdullah himself. He infinitely enriched our visit, sharing customs, traditions, perspective, and history of Morocco, and provided an entrée to the people. He was flexible and accommodating, and a delightful person to travel with. He even stayed in touch to make sure our transition to Spain was successful. We left not just with memories, but with a new friend. Thank you Abdullah!

We took a 4 day guided tour with Sahara Atlas and it was a fabulous experience. Right from the start, Ismail/ Helen were flexible when it came to customising our itinerary and including all the details we wanted.
We had Abdellah as our guide and driver. We spent 4 days with him on the road and it was a fabulous experience, seeing Morocco with all the local insights.
Everyone was so thoughtful and attentive, including the staff / owners at the various accommodations we stayed at.
Can’t recommend this enough. This tour was a big part of our trip being memorable. Thank you for everything!
