Guided Day Tour to Fez from Casablanca

Don’t miss a chance to explore Morocco’s cultural capital on this 1-day guided tour of Fes. Walk the winding streets of the city’s car-free medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit pungent tanneries and souks piled high with spices and handicrafts. See Bab Boujeloud, the Jewish Quarter, Medersa Bou Inania, Nejjarine Square, and the Batha Museum. If you wish, enjoy a Moroccan cooking class before your return to Casablanca.

Mohammed V is a large open square with a lovely fountain and thousands of pigeons. It is surrounded by some beautiful French-inspired buildings, like the courthouse, the post office, a large theatre, a bank and a wonderful clock tower.

When you get there, there are alot of pigeons and guys trying to sell you everything. They want money to take pictures and so on. To me it wasn't anything fancy. You see it and you can go. Not worth any extra time.

This is a very interesting square which you can find to the South of old Medina of Casablanca. It was built during the French Protectorate under Resident General Lyautey. It has an array of beautiful Neo Mauresque buildings around it. Most of them were designed by French architects Robert Marrast and Henri Prost. You can see lovely buildings like The Courthouse, The Wilaya with it’s elegant clocktower, The Post Office, Grand Théâtre de Casablanca and The Bank Al Maghreb around it. The equestrian Statue of Hurbert Lyautey can also be seen in this area in the French Consulate. There is a fountain in the midst of this square. Over the years it has had many names like the Pigeon Square, Lyautey Square, Administrative Square, Main Square, Square of France and Victory Square. I loved the pigeons and the bustle of this square but it’s true charm is the architecture around it.

Lots of pigeons and locals. Plus some tourists. Nothing wrong with the square per se, it's just not a tourist attraction.
