What an incredible trip! Although this was a couple of years ago, Morocco has become my most valued place to visit after my trip with Moha and Said. I left a piece of me there along with taking some incredible lessons from spending such an incredible time in this beautiful country.

Dancing to the sunset on a lookout on the side of the road, drinking tea with a beautiful Berber family, trekking across the country (in a very comfortable 4wd) to spending the night in the Sahara Desert and learning how water is life all while smothered in homemade Argan Oil we watched being made.

We could not have asked for a better time, the food, the people, the memories, will never be forgotten.

I would highly recommend making your trip 10 times better and having a private tour with Moha instead of spending the whole trip in a busy city, if you can.

We didn't need to ask for anything, in fact, we were given more than we could ever ask for!

I tell everyone about my time in Morocco and will continue to until I see Moha again.

Thank you, see you again soon.

My girlfriend and I were looking to cross off a bucket list item with an 8-day trip through Morocco. We contacted Mohamed prior to our trip and he clearly outlined what would be an exciting / immersive journey throughout Southern and Northern Morocco.

I can happily say this trip met and exceeded all expectations! Mohamed maintained a warm, calming presence while welcoming us to his country. This was an extraordinarily authentic experience and we felt at home through each stop on our journey.

Our Trip:

We began our trip in Marrakech and then traversed through the Atlas Mountains to sleep in Dades Gorge. We spent two days in the desert in and around Merzouga which was (in our eyes) the highlight of the trip. We took both ATV and camel rides through the humongous Saharan Dunes, slept in a luxury tent under the stars, ate authentic Berber food, met a local nomad tribe, and learned about the history of the area through Mohamed who was born and raised in this area. We even experienced a VERY traditional Hamam in the town of Rissani which I would HIGHLY recommend! In the words of Mohamed it is the true “Magic of the Sahara” that served as a catalyst towards our incredible time there. This was an absolute must visit during any stay in Morocco.

From there, we went on the road to Fes where we witnessed the distinct environmental shift from the Sahara desert to the largest forest in Morocco. On this journey we were greeted by monkeys, saw the “Switzerland” of Morocco in Ifran and eventually reached the cultural capital of Morocco in Fes. We spent two nights in Fes after which we traveled to the lovely blue painted mountain town of Chefchaouen. From here, we traveled to Rabat and then left through Casablanca.

As a Jewish American I was particularly interested in learning about the strong cultural heritage of the Moroccan Jews. Mohamed made this a priority and introduced us to culturally relevant sites and dialogues throughout the country.

All local guides town that we were connected with through Mohamed were kind and spoke perfect English. Mohamed himself speaks both English and Spanish as well.

The “Riad’s” we stayed in at each location were lovely. Each sported king-sized beds, air conditioning and welcoming staff. Our favorite was the “Dar Echchaouen” in Chefchaouen. Separately, the car for our driving tour was modern, clean, comfortable and well air conditioned (😅).

Thank you to Mohammed and Basso Morocco Tours for an incredible first time in Morocco 🇲🇦!! We truly felt at home here and plan to come back in the near future (a trip along the coast). I happily recommend utilizing Basso Morocco Tours services to my friends at home and anyone reading this review.

Mohamed was the perfect guide to show us the beautiful country of Morocco. He is an expert on Berber culture and treated us like travelers, not tourists. We started our tour in Marrakech and went through the mountains to the desert, and up through Fes to Chefchaouen and Casablanca. Our hotels were phenomenal and the renowned hospitality of Morocco was a welcome treat. The tours were full day experiences with local guides who spoke excellent English.

As Mohamed got to know us, he took account of our priorities while on the trip. The first highlight of the trip was a full 24 hours in the desert, Mohamed’s homeland. We took a camel ride through the desert to a luxury camp, where dinner was served to us under the stars. The next day, Mohamed brought us to a small village where Gnawa music was played by descendants of slaves from Mali. He then took us to meet a nomad family at their home, an intimate and humbling experience. Later that day, Mohamed took us to a traditional Hammam where locals taught us how to go through the ancient bathing techniques that have been used for centuries. In the evening, we did an hour long ATV excursion in the sand dunes, a bucket list experience. The desert tour with Mohamed is an absolute MUST while you are in Morocco. The only way to replicate it would be to return and do it again. As Mohamed says, “it’s The Magic of Sahara.”

The next personal highlight for me was the last 24 hours. Mohamed booked us an incredible hotel in Chefcaouchen within walking distance to the winding streets of vendors. This hotel was a last minute change, and one that made the ending of our trip relaxing and comfortable. I loved having dinner on the terrace with live music while watching the sunset. I wish we could have stayed here for an additional night. When we left the blue town of Chefchaouen, Mohamed added an unexpected but thoughtful stop to our trip. He brought us to a Jewish pilgrimage site in Ouezzane after we expressed interested in learning more about the Jewish history of Morocco. This was a special experience and one we would not have considered without Mohamed’s guidance.

Overall, I was impressed with how comfortable Mohamed made our driving tour. His car is clean, comfortable, air-conditioned, and has a great speaker system for those high-energy, road-trip moments. He made us feel safe, even with the hectic drivers of Morocco, and it confirmed that this is the best way to travel through Morocco. Thank you, Mohamed! We can’t wait to come back and visit the Magic of Morocco with you again!

The beauty of Morocco is captured really nicely with this tour service. The guides go above and beyond to cater to their customers and ensure a pleasant experience. You feel truly accommodated and cared for. Starting from the pick-up at your hotel all the way to the drop-off, one feels cared for.

The views are stunning in the Sahara Dessert and the ability to view the stars without light pollution is a bucket list experience. Can't wait to go back

Our trip to Morocco was absolutely not planned, we were meant to go to Turkey, however, our flight got canceled in the last moment. We had to make up a plan very quickly, Morocco was the best choice at that moment, today I say that I am glad our flight got canceled, otherwise I would have never had the best experience in my entire life. Morocco was absolutely my favorite of all times, thanks to Mohamed, his attention, programming, his professional and respectful behavior, I can say that we spent the most perfect holidays ever. He made sure my two girlfriends and me feel comfortable, safe and happy all the time. I would definitely repeat as soon as possible!!!

My friends and I were looking to have an incredible first trip to Morocco (from the USA). This trip was all that and more! It incorporated incredible sights, culture, people, food, as well as some incredibly knowledgable and entertaining tour guides. We were in good hands once we booked us through Moha, and our guide Mohamed took care of our every need. I think our guide knew half the population in every town! This is the true Moroccan experience, and he made us feel at home in a foreign country.
A bit about our experience... Our driver picked us up in Marrakesh (easy transfer) and made it to the desert, hitting many sites and towns in between. He knew all the photo spots! At every location we had a friendly local guide who was full of knowledge, our lodging was prepared, and food was excellent.
This was an incredible trip that I have been recommending to my friends since arriving home. Thanks Basso Tours!
