Located on the eastern side of the city, and high atop Mont Bouzareah overlooking the Bay of Algiers, this19th century, neo-Byzantine Roman Catholic church is one of Algiers' most important attractions. Surmounted by a silver dome, it features a blue and white mosaic frieze that runs around the building, setting off the sandstone walls. The interior is richly decorated with... More

Do not miss out the opportunity to visit this place if you happen to travel to Algiers. It's a beautiful old place that has been very well preserved and it offers a spectacular sea view and the view of the city as it is located on a cliff overlooking the bay of Algiers!

The exterior of the building was more interesting than the interior. The building is a focal point for the old city as the white/silvery domes can be spotted from a great distance around the harbor. However, there are so many more interesting things to see in Algiers that if you are crunched for time take a look at the building... More

Excellent example of ecumenism -- a beautiful catholic basilica, in a hilltop setting with spectacular views of Algiers. The sanctuary script says, in French, "Our Lady of Africa, pray for us and the Moslems." Definitely worth a visit.

An interesting cathedral of modest size strategically placed above the city and coast. Well maintained with interesting plaques and dedications. The staff were very helpful and provided written guides available in many languages.

The old Basilica does not let you take photos inside but from outside itself it is pretty picturesque and the location being at the top of a hill, you get an excellent view of the white city of Africa, Algiers. In the inside it is well maintained and old inscriptions all around will give you a great feeling leaving alone... More

Was unable to access Cathedral at the time I was there. Check for opening times. Nice view of Algiers and the harbour.

It is a must see in Algiers. It could be some problems to park a car because it is also Vatican embassy but it is absolutely worth to see it. View on whole Algiers is fantastic.

Stunning building in location overlooking the harbour. No entry fee but scarf required for females. It shows the value of different religions living in the same area and how cooperation brings results.
