The food was not good. Had little choice we could eat. Very spicy on some things. Would not recommend it.

This program is part of Des Moines Area Community College. One or more times a month, the school schedules a lunch where the culinary students cook and serve a full multi-course dinner. It is a very fancy meal served in a beautiful, huge room in the college. I think my most recent ticket was about $13. Each lunch has a... More

Iowa Culinary Institute provides excellent gourmet dinners that are prepared and served by its students. The food is extraordinary and the service is exceptional. The bistro cafe is ope fr lunch. International themed dinners are available on Thursday nights.

The Iowa Culinary Institute (ICI) is staffed by the culinary students of Des Moines Area Community College. Our lunch bunch group meets there weekly when school is in session. There is always something new and different to try. The fall semester features a themed buffet as well as a menu and the spring semester is menu only. You should always... More

We hold a banquet with DMACC and it is always flawless. They provide such care and precision in their work. It is always such a pleasure to be able to work with them. I look forward to working with them again!

We attempt to go once a month for a dinner. We have never been disappointed, meals have been good and friendly students. My only suggestion would be to bring everyone's meal when it is hot even though our entire tables dinners are not quite ready as I prefer mine served hot.

The Iowa Culinary Institute or ICI serves lunch and dinner for about nine months of the year, and is staffed by the students of Des Moines Area Community College. These quality of these meals vary, as the students are learning how to cook and serve. That said ... you can get veal and other delicacies at unimaginable prices since they're... More

Went to the Bistro last week for lunch with retired colleagues. I always look forward to going there. I did the buffet which is usually centered around a theme, that day being Mediterranean cuisine. The food is delicious and artfully presented. You can order off a limited menu as well. All meals include a beverage, dessert, and your entree for... More

WOW! What a fantastic dining experience we had on Thursday evening, October 3, 2013! We've been fans of the gourmet dinner series at the Iowa Culinary Institute (ICI) at DMACC's Ankeny campus for several years and morned the passing of executive chef instructor Lori Dowie-Resser earlier this summer. We were a little concerned about how things would go this fall... More

IF you are looking for an amazing experience with haute cuisine, ICI does an amazing job at educating it's students about what good food is! The tickets to this dinner are around $100, which if you had the same meal at a high end restaurant in a big city (I don't think there are any restaurants in Des Moines that... More
