What a beautiful campus

Walking this campus is just a wonderful experience. The buildings are full of culture and the walkway signs add to the history.

We visited the campus cause my daughter is considering Iowa State for the fall of 2017. It has beautiful scenery, very friendly students and staff and good food. Definitely worth the cost to attend!

There are few better ways to spend a sunny fall Saturday afternoon than being in Ames for football Saturdays. Ticket or not, the tailgating is one of the best anywhere and the fans are among the friendliest around (except for the occasional Hawkeye-hater). Stadium has great sight-lines and even an end-zone club that serves alcohol if you are willing to... More

I have 2 boys going to 2 different universities. When shopping for colleges, I have visited 10 different Midwestern universities in the past two years. My favorite by far is Iowa state in Ames Iowa. They are the oldest land grant university in the country and their campus set up is the best I have seen anywhere. They have preserved... More

Beautiful campus, Professor "Steve" gave us an informal tour of the new "Bio-fuels" building and explained the "Floating Art" in the lobby. THEY SHOULD HAVE A BROCHURE , it was fascinating!!! As with any large college campus, visitor parking is an issue, even if you are willing to pay.

Iowa State is a large, old land grant university which began in the mid-1800s. The university is built around a tree-filled central campus that features giant, stately buildings and a famous campanile. Since the early days, new buildings have been built around the perimeter of the original central campus. There's a lake adjacent to the memorial union that is especially... More

I graduated from ISU in May, 2015. My family attended the graduation and I have to say that I was so proud of "my university". I wanted the kids in my family to see what a large university was like. They were happy they went. Everyone at ISU was so warm and welcoming to all members of my family. It... More

We spent a good deal of time at Reiman Gardens, which was fabulous. The grounds and buildings were beautiful.

College events are very popular. Highway 69 South Duff is the gateway to town and University. Chain restaurants are located here, but also some small locally owned restaurants. Hickory Park, Mucky Duck and Dublin Bay are worth checking out. Historic Business Districtvis not nearly as interesting as Iowa City's downtown. Offers a good education for men. Women must be assertive... More
