Unfortunately, I can't recall this lovely woman's name, but we were there on March 16th, and she was very kind, interesting and entertaining! Got to explore the entire center from top to bottom. Took a selfie with my husband next to the "American Farmer" statue.

Woman at counter was very helpful in showing us the maps, and giving us information about where to go, what was open and when, advice and tips. I'd suggest anyone stop in there first because there is so much to see including the seven colonies...More
The visitor center is a nice place to go first when visiting the Amana Colonies. The receptionist was knowledgeable and informative about what to see and gave directions to the different places. The building is unique and not your typical visitor center.

They have a wealth of information there and merchandise for sale.
Most importantly the public restrooms are next to the center. Just north of the center! It is the old Amana fire station.
Be sure to go up the stairs to the cupola!
