I rented an RZR RS1 for two days and had the best time of my life!!! Sure, it may seem like you're signing your life away when you first get there. And in some ways you are because when you drive one of these things, you are taking on a big responsibility. The RS1 is an AMAZING machine with explosive power - I LOVED driving it! Treat the machine with respect and stay within the limits of your off-road driving skills at Badlands and you're guaranteed to have a blast!…

Fun, glad I experiended it, but I probably won't go back. Risk is too high of damaging a vehicle and paying big $$$.
Good: It was fun, rented a single seat Razor for the day and blasted around the Badlands. Went on a weekday and it wasn't very crowded at all. Most everyone we came in to contact with at the rental facility and badlands were very courteous and helpful. I felt the cost for the rental was reasonable but....see below. Bad: Computer/ iPad issues? We all had filled out waivers online but had to fill out again upon arrival, I actually had to end up doing it 3 times total. There were three of us, they assigned us each a single seat Razor, when we returned they accused us of switching machines, we did no such thing. They insisted we must have switched and would not admit that they could have screwed it up somehow on their own. They give you dire warnings before you leave the rental facility about not getting the machines sandy, too wet, muddy, or damaging the precious plastic panels, well good luck with that in the badlands full of sand, mud, water holes, and tight wooded trails. They warn you that you will be held responsible for any damage to the machine, even wear items like belts, you can even be responsible for replacing an engine if they determine that you somehow caused it to fail?! One of us turned his machine over on it's side and did minor damage to the top part of the cage and one of the plastic panels, they are going to charge him over $900 to fix it. I'm by all means not a Polaris repair expert but that amount of money for what appeared to be very minor damage seemed excessive. Funny thing, the rental that they assigned to me had nearly the exact damage to the top of the cage and scratched/ gauged plastic panels that hadn't been repaired from a previous incident and they were still putting it out for rental, so obviously not a big deal and definitely not a safety hazard? One other issue/ inconvenience, the rental facility is about a mile or so from the badlands, so you won't have access to your vehicle and anything you brought unless you take the time to drive all the way out to your vehicle and back which takes valuable time away from your rental. And watch out for the 20 MPH speed limit/ speed trap and the stop signs that the local police are always dutifully watching, of course for our own good and safety, not for the express purpose of writing costly traffic citations! None of us got a ticket but be warned, on the two trips I made to and from the rental facility I saw a patrol car either parked and watching or driving the main road to the badlands.…

We go past other parks that are closer to home but we drive a longer distance to ride here. The trails are litter free, cleary marked with directions. They offer different levels of experience needed for the type of riding we do.

What a fun Day! Yes, it is a little costly, but so worth it to try out a machine (instead of riding w/someone). We had a great time! Easy rental procedure. We loved it! We did some rough riding and got our $$ worth! We will be back!
