Pokagon is an Indiana State Park located in Angola, Indiana, on the shores of Lake James. Pokagon has both electric and non-electric campsites, as well as a youth tent area and group camp. There a two swiming beaches at Pokagon along with miles of hiking trails, a bike trail, a Nature Center open daily and the Potawatomi Inn and Conference Center. In the winter, Pokagon is home to a refrigerated toboggan run. Because of it is refrigerated, it does not need snow to go and is open from the day after Thanksgiving until the last weekend in February.

We went for dinner. The service was bad and the food was only fair. Our table server said that she had just been "pulled from the mop room" and told she needed to serve food.

We loved the horse back riding, boating, beaches and nature center. The trails are beautiful, and we would definitely visit the park again.

I dropped in here on my way through on a long road trip. I’m glad I did. Beautiful, well taken care of and feature rich. I was particularly impressed with the toboggan run. Although I came through in July I definitely would be happy to...More

There is outside seating, but service is counter only. With only one person. There is no way to secure the dogs, get the food and exit to sit out front.

I love the trails and the nature center. Plus have an awesome staff! I have walked all except one of the trails. If you like seeing birds and wildlife, even in the summer at peak times, you still have plenty of wild areas to see.

The lake is pretty, and if you go in the winter I'm sure the toboggan run would be great. There are some nice play areas for younger kids, volley ball nets, etc. So, for a summer trip--if you live in the area, this is a...More

In 2012 I rated Pokagaon's restaurant poorly due to a bad experience with our reservation and the manager. It has been 5 years, so we decided to try them again. I had also head they had a new restaurant manager. This time (Nov. 2017) it...More

We had a good trip. The toboggan was different than what I have experienced before. I'm glad we tried it. With crowds of people on the weekends it is hard to get through the line more than one time in an hour. We were here...More

We just got back from staying at the Potawatomi Inn at Pokagon State Park. It was way nicer then I thought it would be. We arrived on Friday night around 5 and checked right in. Be prepared to pay a fee at the entrance. We...More

We always drive through the park when the redbud trees are in bloom, normally late April. The natural color is absolutely beautiful!

There is a restaurant in the Inn. Do they have a bar or serve beer or alcohol at the Inn? If not can you bring your own?
