I like to come here in the summer. It's a nice place. I enjoy the lazy river. Kids enjoy the sand area, the water play, and the tubes. The food is ok. I like the lay out of the place. Bathrooms are clean for the most part.

We attempted to go to Splash Country Waterpark on Thursday, August 18, 2011.
All the signs indicated that they were open from Noon until 7 PM every day, but after waiting for 30 minutes we were informed that Aurora started school on Wednesday, August 17th, so the water park was only going to be open on the weekends. Take note of this if you are on vacation in August. We don't start school in MI until the day after Labor Day, so we didn't even think about this.
From the outside looking in, the park looked wonderful! We are hoping to visit sometime in the future when they are open. I'm giving it an average rating as we don't really know how to rate this.

We stayed at a resort about 40 mins away that had an indoor water park, but we really wanted to go to an outdoor water park since the weather is still warm. We found a GREAT deal on Groupon for Splash Country that we just couldn't beat, and we are glad we gave it a try. For a fraction of the price of the indoor option we had, Splash Country offered more.
They have 2 big water slides, a splash pad, huge pool with a zero depth entry and kiddie slide, as well as a lazy river. This kept our kids ages 5-13 busy for quite a bit. It wasn't too big and overwhelming like some water parks can be with smaller kids - it was the perfect fit for our family. You don't have to pay to use inner tubes for the lazy river (unlike a lot of other larger parks!) which is nice. The only downside to that is you have to wait in line for a tube. If people go the one lap around and give their tube back, it works great but can be a longer wait during busier times and when people don't want to take turns. Despite that, it was a great afternoon and we had a great time. We'll go back again if we're in the area during the summer!

This water park has two waterslides. On both, you ride in a tube. The waterslides are not particularly fast or exciting - they're normal run-of-the-mill slides. At most waterparks, small children are routinely permitted on this kind of slide when sharing a 2-person tube with a parent. At "Splash Country," there is a 48" minimum height for these slides, regardless of whether children are accompanied down the slide by a parent. This absurd policy makes this waterpark useless for anyone who is older than a toddler but shorter than 48", and by extension the families of such a person.
Note that the enforcement of this height rule is sporadic. If you go, you might get lucky for a while, or you might not.

We came on a day it had rained, I had family visiting from out of town and thought it would be fun to go. I looked at radar and it showed rain should be over, after arriving, paid went out and they said thunder was heard, 20 min in barn. Ok. Lots of staff walking around talking about how none of them wanted to be in on this day since it wasn't sunny, all figured they would have it off. After a while, I asked if it was possible to just get a refund, I was told yes, since it had not been an hour. Went and got everyone and was then told by a different person, no refund and no pass to come back at a later date, they had planned to stay open entire day. Ok. They let us in water and an hour later say they are shutting early due to weather, pass out vouchers. I thought no one could have vouchers?
All in all, it was teens who just complained the entire time about doing their job had no real idea what protocol was.
Lifeguards for the most part were serious and watched kids well.
Never did make it back to use vouchers since it closes so early and it was a waste of $40
Will not go back.

I recently went here with my girlfriend and her siblings and I have to say that I was impressed. The admission was outrageously low and the staff were so friendly! The rides were cool and not too crowded and everyone patiently took their turn waiting and not shoving to the front like other parks. The food was a decent price and I even got to enjoy their funnel cake fries which I have never had before. What's even better, is that they let me bring food and drinks of my own into the park. You won't find that at too many water parks in Illinois. My gf and her siblings had a great time as well I would definitely come here again. I also appreciated how clean the park was and how clean the water was.

Do not expect Ragin' Waves...But expect to have a nice time. It is a great little waterpark. We have two little girls that love the shallow water and the splash area. They also love the lazy river. The adults like the two slides and the lazy river too.
Good times!

I bring my grandkids here during the summer, I especially love floating down the lazy river. The kids love the two giant water slides and the water works area. The little ones like to play in the shallow area. The food at the consession is pretty good. The area has several huge umbrellas over the tables for shade. There are enough life vests to serve any one who needs one. I am impressed that there are so many life guards serving the river, slides and pool and that they are strict with the rules for safety.

Moments after paying they made an announcement that the main pool would be closed for the rest of the day. I asked the cashier why and her response was "I don't know, probably health code violation - water clarity." Her response was as if this wasn't an isolated occurrence. No refunds were given, because the other water areas were still open. Who would want to continue swimming at a water park that doesn't meet health code standards? Not me.

Took my grandkids there today, it was our first visit. The kids, (under 10 years of age) had a great time. I had difficulty getting them out of the water. The park doesn’t have many slides but there are several areas for small kids. Some parents didn’t supervise their kids and lifeguards didn’t say much. Needed more supervision when kids were running into each other at the bottom of a slide. The water is shallow and most people aren’t there to swim , they just want to lounge in and around the water. If you decide to go there take a lock for your valuables. There are small lockers but you’ll need a lock. Life vests are also available at no charge but they can be found on the ground outside the bathrooms. Lounge chairs were available around the park but today wasn’t very crowded. Lots of lawn space for sitting as well. Parking lot is small but I didn’t have a problem finding a park. Nice sitting area near the concession stand. Granddaughter scraped her knee and ankle on the bottom of the pool but we didn’t go to the first aide station.
There was garbage can over flowing but no one bothered to empty them. You can bring snacks into the park. Some of the bathrooms didn’t have toilet paper and people were asking you to pass them tissue from the next stall. The floor was wet and it had wet toilet paper and trash on it. I was afraid for my granddaughter’s suit to touch the floor! Filthy!!! I would suggest bypassing the toilets and changing areas. Wear your swimsuits and dry off as much as possible before you leave. The park has some nice qualities but wet floors with wet paper and trash is not acceptable to me. The park opens at 10:45 per the website and we arrived at 11 to dirty bathrooms and dressing areas.
