Never in my life have I witnessed a small bar crowd be neglected and ignored by bar staff. They were just barely functioning and in a world of their own. After several request I just gave up a friend finally ordered my beer. Italso hardle aan Ale House. With just a few beers on tap the vast majority of specialty beers are in cans and bottles.
Then when asking for a glass the server had a look of shock on her face. Just pass on this poorly run venue.

A great place to socialize

A large space that takes up the entire third floor of the Metropolis building. Three bars, a fireplace area with couches, tables and chairs, bar stools, game areas - this place has it all. No food served but you can order out, cater, or bring your own from home. Good selection of craft beers. A new area was getting ready to open soon. Terrific for small or large events. We had a fundraiser there and the owners were VERY accommodating. Can’t wait to bring more friends, especially in the summer when the deck will be open.

Unusual experience...rude bartender.

I was excited to meet with friends at Arlington Ale house. It is easily accessible from the parking garage next door. It is on the third floor in the Metropolis Theatre building. The area is very large and holds several bars. Lots of tables. Has a few couches and a nice fireplace. Also looks like a nice rooftop area for the summer. I had no issues, but my friend ordered a drink that tasted terrible. We all took a sip and agreed it was not good. She nicely asked the bartender for another drink, and he rudely refused. Finally after some arguing, he reluctantly made her another drink which was perfectly fine. I have been to other bars where my drink was not satisfactory, and it was remade without a hassle, so I am not sure what his issue was. At that point the fire alarm went off and we all had to leave the building and stand outside in the cold. It turned out that there was something on fire from Mago's. In a short time, we were ushered back upstairs. There is no food served in the bar, however you can have food delivered from Armando's or pick up from Mago's downstairs. I am sure you can have food delivered from elsewhere as well. This was an unusual experience, but would come back again in the future to give it another chance since they had a nice variety of craft beer.

Not accomidating for handicapped & teen parties

Came here with a friend in a wheel chair she has CP.
Not only were the servers rude in trying to get drinks- they would not come to the table to help her order nor bring the drink to her after ordering. Which would have been fine but the doorways etc. Would not fit her standard sized chair.
The bathroom too was difficult to manage- bathroom was filthy and the water from the faucets shoots out everywhere creating a very slippery surface on the floor and counter.

If you happen to drop in with friends on a weekend night beware- they have lots of parties and areas are sectioned off. What causes concern is that we experienced high schoolers having various parties and at 10 pm they were still there. Very awkward.
I asked the bouncer if this was normal, he said yes and said others have complained.

It is not appropriate to have teens in a bar mingling with of age adults. *The teens do not stay in their party area*

This is our main reason for not returning.

We come here sometimes when we are home from school. It's pretty expensive but I love the variety of bars and things to do. You can sit on the rooftop patio or hangout in the game room. They run out of certain beers often

An up & coming place with a bright future

Ok, so here is the bottom line. Located on third floor of the Metropolis building in downtown Arlington Heights. Elevator access. Large space with main bar area, separate rooms for groups, game room. Broad selection of craft and imported beers; on tap, bottled, cans. No food service but they have menus from local restaurants e.g. pizza, Thai. Also, Mago is an excellent Mexican restaurant located on the first floor of the building. So, if you want food you call, order for carry out, go get it and bring it in. A local pizza place will deliver right to you at the ale house. We ordered from Mago and a nearby Thai place; and had a pizza delivered for the kids. Obviously, it is hard to get all the food to arrive at the same time and everything may not be hot but it works. Servers can take your drink orders or you can go up to the bar. Most people we saw were not eating but don't let that stop you. Kid friendly. Can accommodate large groups including separate party rooms. Street parking. Large free parking garage around the corner. Hey, it's fun.

A good start...needs improvement

Recently opened, this pub specializes in craft beer(including local area brews). It is located on the third floor of the Metropolis building in a large expansive space (access via elevator). There are multiple bars, a game room, and an outdoor deck. I visited on a Thursday night which featured live music. There is no food service....I did a BYO by stopping at nearby Porky's Barbecue for a brisket sandwich takeout. The beer list includes two pages of drafts, as well as bottles and cans. The list contained a few very good beers covering various styles. Many of the selections, however, were what I call "B' list beers and the list was not updated for the day. It would be great if they offered some bar snack food. All in all, I will return and I hope this place is successful.
