The Bus is cheap and we have used it a lot over the yearsas a couple. You can get a 4 day tourist pass for about 35.00 or pay as you use the bus. Currently 2.50 full fare,1.25 youth fare. We had been using the senior fare until a driver said the Australian seniors card was not valid and we... More

We found the bus a great way to get around town at only $2.50 per trip (make sure you have the correct money as they don't give change but you can pay for 2 people with a $5.00 note just let them know) the bus driver gives you a ticket and if you have to hop on another bus you... More

Such a cheap way of getting around Waikiki. We caught the bus to the Polynesian cultural centre which was over 1 1/2 hours away for $2.50 one way. Make sure you get a ticket so you can transfer to another bus if needed within 2 hours. We also caught the bus to Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head. All 3 places... More

Great way to see Honolulu without all of the problems of trying to find a parking space. We toured around Honolulu were able to enjoy all of the scenery and not worry about anything. Great way to relax.

The Bus is the local transport, sometimes called the city bus. Get to know it and you can travel for $2.50 per trip (even including changing buses if required). Locals and tourists alike use this service so you will see another side of Hawaii. The bus driver to Hanauma Bay even gave us a commentary along the 30 minute trip.... More

Yes - it's crowded to drive the streets of Honolulu - it's downright maddening - the traffic, the dead-ends - it's confusing, so easier to buy a pass for the week and ride the bus instead, right? Well, not necessarily - they have to traverse all of this traffic too, so it is not unusual for some of the buses... More

You can ride "the bus" to almost anywhere in Oahu for 2.50 (1.00 for seniors). The bus takes a little longer than a taxi service, but is very reliable. The bus drivers are very helpful if you don't know exactly how to get to where you are going. We loved the bus.

I live in Portland, OR, a mecca for decent mass transit in the US. We have bus, rail and streetcar. I was raised on Oahu, and traffic sucks, HARD, in Honolulu. The Bus was a simple, easy way to get around in Honolulu. It wasn't fancy. It wasn't glamorous. It was efficient and totally underutilized. Busses were clean, drivers were... More

The wide-ranging area covered by The Bus allows anyone to travel Oahu with ease. The timetables supplied are easy to read. Though the times may not match the presence of the bus in some cases, the wait is to be expected in a vacation-busy atmosphere. The drivers are amicable and helpful. Realizing this may not pertain to many people, may... More
