This is one of the best views in Hawaii. One of my best pictures of the beaches was fro the park above the beach. A panorama shot from there is a must-have. Be sure to get the obligatory shot of the wild chickens!

As we were driving along the coast from Waikiki to the North Shore, we came across an almost empty beach park. So we stopped for an hour to enjoy the white sands and palm trees. Several kite board riders use this beach to head out to deeper waters. Wave action was enough to enjoy the water without being knocked down. Plenty of free parking and trees for shade.…

This is a great choice of beach on the north shore that is a lot less populated than most. We went here two days and there weren't many others to be seen. There are no lifeguards here. Great sand, great views, nice water.

Unbelievably fast crabs, palm trees, a sweeping curve of smooth sand with a brackish inlet that makes a small lagoon at one end. There is a honey bucket in the parking lot and the chickens will come running as you pull up looking for a handout. The green strip along the road has shade and grass and there are places along the beach to find shade. …
