This is also Pounder's Beach. There is a good size parking area. There are a few picnic tables.
There is a pretty decent amount of beach and some shady areas.
There is an area near a little cliff where it is good body surfing/boogie boarding. Caution: It seems to be a shorebreak. It is pretty scenic place. Good place for a visit or picnic.
Not one of those highly recognized beaches, but a nice place to visit on the Winward Coast.

I stayed only a mile from here and stopped every morning to watch the beautiful sunrise and the waves coming in. The parking lot is empty in the morning and the beach was never more than 1 other person at sunrise. There is a station to wash off your feet and trash cans, there are also chickens roaming around.

This beach was nice and clean and it seemed it was the favourite beach for locals to hang out, we did not meet any foreigners but locals who were very friendly and gave us some advice to eat out in restaurants.

We went here on a Friday morning in June – around 7:00am. The beach was empty. We had it to ourselves. Pretty decent shore snorkeling when the water is calm. Saw some decent variety of fish. Water has refreshing. Beautiful views to the south.

You will drive through residential area, dead end, the park. The uneven ground and wall is made of coral. A secret location, free, limited parking but a must!!

We spent a week on the North Shore we visited Laie Beach Park three times during our stay... the first time there were massive waves that were well over head coming in from tropical storm Darbys swell... the gorgeous Cliff face to the right is about 8 meters tall and there were waves as tall as that ...sometimes hitting it and spraying water everywhere... it was absolutely amazing to watch as the waves bounced off the cliff and then hit the other waves it would create a huge wavespout 60 feet offshore...
The Experience local Boogie boarders in the water made it all look easy and it was super fun to watch for hours.

The second time we went there the waves were not nearly as big so we ventured into the water to try our hand at Boogie boarding.... needless to say we got beat up by the waves since we are total amateurs.

The locals we encountered there were all very friendly and every time we went we ran into this local with his English bulldog... perhaps you will see him.

There are fresh water showers right at the parking lot the beach itself has nice lights and occasionally there is wash up some sticks and brush.... p Water itself is very Sandy No reef out in the water so great for water activities
If you go to the left the waves are much smaller and more manageable for small children
If you go to the right be prepared for larger waves
Of all the beaches on the North Shore this one was the most fun for us and the most picturesque....
V-beach on north shore was the second most pretty and there was almost no one there which was great... also had big waves and they're always Surfers there.

I decided today to take a drive around the windward side of the island. Part of my plan was to stop somewhere along the way and enjoy one of the beaches I passed (I didn't have a plan for which one, I was just waiting for one that didn't look hugely crowded which...for a Sunday afternoon can be hard to find).

Eventually, I got to Laie and saw this beach park and realized I'd found my beach. :)

While it wasn't completely deserted, there weren't that many people there and most looked like locals, not tourists. Lots of those there were bodyboarding in the waves or just sitting in the shade of the trees and enjoying the day. I myself did that for a bit (with some fresh pineapple I bought from the Hale'iwa farmer's market!).

Eventually, I took a walk down the beach so I could get some pictures of the waves hitting the rocks down on the south end. As I went, I noticed the sand got rougher (larger pieces) and that there was quite a lot of sea glass and shells mixed in with the small rocks and sand. I ended up getting distracted for a while looking for bits of sea glass that I liked and I wasn't the only one poking around. Most of the beach is soft and sandy though so don't worry about laying your towel down on pebbles! :)

Anyway, of all the beaches I've visited on Oahu, this one is currently my favorite.

We stumbled across this beautiful beach purely by chance and I'm so glad we did. On parking the car you walk through beautiful trees to reach the stunning beach that awaits you. And if you're lucky like we were, it was completely empty. Unusually for the North Shore, even the waves were gentle! It was lovely to just sit and inhale your surroundings as far away from the bustling shores of Waikiki as you can possibly be. There are so many beautiful beaches on this part of the coast that on leaving we bumped into some locals who said they very rarely see tourists here. It's beautiful & worth finding!

Its about as far from Waikiki as you can get. But, it's accessible by The Bus, or car, if you are going to be driving to or from The North Shore, via Kaneohe. Gorgeous beach, that to my mind, rivals Kailua, that was voted one of the best beaches in the world. Kailua is now super crowded, but as of 2013, This beach was still pretty empty. And its beautiful.
