This tour is rich with history and beauty. You’ll see two of Maui’s most popular sights: Iao Valley and Lahaina Town. Iao Valley is a tranquil, lush paradise of exotic plants and natural pools. During your journey into the valley, your guide will tell you about a famous battle that occurred in the area in 1790 that changed Hawaiian history forever. Rising 2,250 feet out of the earth you’ ll see a rock pinnacle, known as “Iao Needle.” This green stone pillar was used as a natural altar in ancient times. The top of the Iao Needle is sometimes hidden behind mist or clouds, but that often only adds to the drama of this extraordinary natural wonder. From there, you’ll head to the little historic fishing village of Lahaina. Now a mecca for shoppers and anyone seeking fun, it still harks back to the 1840s when up to four hundred whaling ships would anchor there. Check out the 110-year-old Banyan tree, the Pioneer Inn Hotel built in 1906, and the wharf’s bits of history that have been carefully preserved. Since the 1700s, when King Kamehameha made it his home, Lahaina has been a casual place of merriment. And it still is to this day.Iao Valley*Iao Needle*Lahaina*No host lunch* denotes stops made.

After ten days throughout all of the islands, we found Roberts to be the best service. Road to Jana with Tai was great. He's perfect for the job. However, the driver can make the difference as we found with other tours. Our only flaw with Roberts was our driver for the Sunrise... He shall remain nameless. Other companies are OK... More

Loved our Tonga tour guide "Sully"! He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the area. Our eating stops were wonderful and at all times we felt warm, safe and cared for. Our only nix on the day was rondevousing in a Sports Authority shopping center to change buses to a huge bus (felt like a "corporate exempt driver".. Zip... More

My husband & I have used Roberts Hawaii Tours in the past on a prior Hawaii vacation & were well satisfied. On this most recent vacation to Hawaii, Ty was our guide on the Haleakala - Iao Valley - Lahaina tour on Maui. Great informative tour that was worth our time! We went on the road to Hana excursion at the end of July 2015 and we had such a good time. Bjorn made the trip so much better, I think it wouldn't have been half as good without him. Telling us the history of maui but in a fun way. The only down sides were that you don't get long... More

We saw many great sights of this great city like the Capital with the Liberty Bell and statues of the great king and queen which were an integral part of Hawaiian history!
