The picture only shows one boat. This place can get packed, but it's really beautiful. We really enjoyed our time here, but I don't know that I'd go out of my way to go again.

We joined PWF snorkeling tour to Molokini Crater. Departure at 7am. It was an amazing tour, water was calm and clear. We get to snorkel site early before the other charters came in and got so crowded. We saw the Hawaiian state fish, butterfly fish...More

Went on a snorkel tour on the Calypso this past week. Great snorkeling, beautiful coral and an all around good time. Worth the visit and the $$

If you are looking for big pelagics or an adrenaline rush, Molokini is probably not for you. If you like to cruise at modest depth, see lots of brightly colored reef fish as well as a huge variety of invertebrates, and maximize your bottom time...More

While this location came VERY highly recommended, we found it to be average. We were actually able to find much better snorkeling right off the road in West Maui (for free!). We took a charter out to the crater, which don't get me wrong, they...More

Molokini crater has decent amount of fish and turtles, though we didn't see nearly as many as advertised. Lots of boats there and definitely go in the morning before tons of boats get there and the water is crowded with snorkellers. The snuba experience was...More

Water was so clear and so much marine life to snorkel with. Unfortunately we didn’t see any turtles on our trip but we did see 3 or 4 whales on both our trip out to the crater and back. Great trip.

Started off in the inside of the crater and then went to the outside wall and completed a drift dive, which is a wonderful experience. I would say that this is a must dive for anyone coming to Maui

We booked the trip out to Molokini on a catamaran having read good reviews on TripAdvisor. Lovely day all round. The teenagers tried Huka diving- basically the scuba tank stays in a small boat on the surface and they had weight belts and a 3m/10ft...More

Left from Po'olenalena Beach on a cat tour booked through the Fairmont Kea Lani. No dock and you have to wade out to the boat, Not an issue since you are planning on being in the water. Crater snorkeling was great as the water is...More

When we were there in May, there were no signs of the volcano in Maui. Plenty of fishes and turtles. We even took a helicopter ride and didn’t see anything.

Both are good options and while it’s true that Molokini is more popular and therefore usually more crowded, July is the slow season in Hawaii so either one you choose will be worthwhile and should yield great opportunities... More

I am 62 years old and did not need a wet suit. We went in April. I did not notice any difference between the Crater and on shore. Cool at first, just jump in and start swimming you'll do fine.
