We took the morning trip with Quicksilver to Molokini (and afterwards to "Turtle Bay"). The snorkling at Molokini was very nice, but not spectacular like some other trips on Maui. Do this trip if you love snorkling and want to do it at all the good sites, or if you're willing to spend the money for those extra few %... More

The water at Molokini is amazingly clear and the reef is beautiful and full of fish. We loved this experience and would definitely go back! The only drawback was how busy it got. There were several other tour companies there after a while, so we were restricted to a small portion of the crater, likely so the tour company didn't... More

While the boat ride to the crater was great (at one point we could see five islands, FIVE!), the snorkeling experience was just okay. I understand that each tour each day is different, but for the time I went, I was pretty underwhelmed. For one thing, the water was abundantly clear, which was great. Now I'm not sure if it... More

This is true. We booked our trip with Pacific Whale Foundation and took their Wild Side trip. The boat only carries a max of 38 passengers; we were 24. At 6 hours, this is a relatively long outing but time flies fast. Our captain anchored the boat near the edge and allowed us to snorkel the crater for a good... More

A little disappointing , we saw more fish and turtles on the beaches we went to that cost zero. The boat trip was great and the staff friendly and informative . Waters were crystal clear and calm .You might have better luck than we did .Be aware of who you book with , you might end up at a time... More

The submerged caldera a few miles off the coast of Maui surely is a popular spot to see marine life--everything from brightly colored fish to coral to sharks to turtles to octopus. A first time visitor will be delighted with the amazing variety. Frequent visitors will notice the coral has bleached considerably due to warmer water, and the quantity of... More

Got up very early to take the boat ride out to the crater. It seems that these boats going out have assigned positions in the area. Nice snorkeling with lots of fish to see. Wet suit not necessary. Lots of people having fun

This is one of the best snorkeling site in Hawaii. The small island looks normal when boat approaching. Once boat anchored, lots of fish with different colors are around the boat. The water is clean and clear! Basically you look like in a natural aquarium.

Our first excursion while on Pride of America Hawaii cruise was one of the best we took. We boarded the Pacific Whale Foundation's Ocean Odyssey catamaran for an approximate hour cruise to Molokini Crater. During the cruise, we were treated to a Continental Breakfast of Banana bread, assorted pastries and fresh island fruit. The crew (names I wrote down were... More

This is a great place to snorkel to see marine life, but don't expect a great coral reef. We did an early morning boat trip when the water is clearer and there are less people around. Rather than powering around spend time observing what's in front of you and you'll see so much more. We spotted an octopus colour morphing... More
