Great place to snorkel and scuba dive

Went to the beach multiple times to snorkel and scuba dive. Lots of turtles, eels and fish. Well worth the time and effort.

Stronger waves, ok for surfing but not for kids. Rough, steep beach. Hot, desert like, you'll find some cactus growing on the side of the road. Beautiful colors and less dense compared to Wailea.

We took beach blankets, a picnic, some books, and sunscreen for the day. It's an easy beach to swim off; water is clear, there is good marine life to see nearby, and the waves keep the water fresh. It's just challenging enough to reach that not a lot of tourists go.

Wow! Beautiful beach! Big beach is a mile long with lifeguards and plenty of room to find a nice plot of sand to have for yourself. The surf was pretty big on shore – I wouldn't recommend it for little kids, but big kids will have a blast. Just over the rocks is Little Beach, with no lifeguards and a... More

Great way to see the power and beauty of the ocean in Hawaii. Like many reviewers mentioned, don't even mess with trying to swim here. Too many true stories of people being seriously hurt here since the waves break right on the beach. Luckily, our 3 kids aged 10, 11 & 13 did fine but we kept them just at... More

Went for stand up paddle. The water was so clear and blue. So many turtles swimming around. Choose this over west Maui beaches any day!

Crystal clear water and white sand.!nice place to hang out with little ones.. Expect a short walk from parking lot to the beach! Don't recommend to bring baby stroller if you have baby traveling with you!

This beach is outstanding, gorgeous views from every angle possible. Water is very rough to swim in this beach,so be careful and would definitely not go in if you are not a great swimmer. As well, it shore breaks at this beach,so when walking it's shoreline , heads up !!!!!! But so incredibly gorgeous, don't miss it peeps!!!

Locals know this spot as Big Beach and Little Beach. They are different but the same. Big Beach is a great walking beach. It's the longest on Maui. Stroll near the water as the sand is loose and makes for tough going. Watch the shore break. The coral bottom is hard as concrete and just as forgiving. On the other... More

I just broke my ankle playing in the waves here. It's a beautiful beach, but the waves are strong. I am healthy and athletic, and got thrown down by a wave and my ankle snapped.
